Daily Sexy Musing: Sexy Teamwork

fitness-couple

As anyone who watches sports will tell you, great players can win games, but only teams win championships. Whether you’re Michael Jordan, LeBron James, Wayne Gretzky, or Tom Brady, you can only do so much on your own. When you want to achieve something greater, you need a team around you to carry you through.

Love is very similar. It can’t just be one person who makes it work. Whether it’s a simple date or a night of passionate lovemaking, it takes a team effort to achieve the most. One person complements the other. Two people achieve together what they cannot achieve on their own. It’s not always easy, as every great athlete will tell you. It’s still worth the effort.

Some of the best relationships I know are team efforts. I’ve had more than one friend or relative tell me that the strength of their love comes through teamwork. They don’t just trust one another. They empower one another. They have a game plan and they know how to see it through. When they face challenges, they’re ready and their love is stronger because of it.

The process teamwork comes easier for some people more than others, but when there’s love involved, it’s the ultimate catalyst. Whether you’re in a new relationship or have been with the same person for four decades, it’s a powerful force and one worth celebrating. To that end, I hope this Daily Sexy Musing helps inspire that uniquely sexy team spirit. Enjoy!

We both see the obstacles before us. From afar, they seem so vast and daunting. It taunts us with its scope and scale, daring us to take it on. Anyone who responds to that dare on their own is a fool, by default. They overestimate their capabilities and underestimate the journey before them.

Thankfully, I am not alone.

Standing by you, nothing seems quite as overwhelming. The shadow that threatens to drown us in darkness only draws us closer together. Just holding your hand gives me strength I didn’t know I had. Being near you, I see bravery and bravado in your eyes, the likes of which would taunt a titan.

Alone, we are beholden to our limits.

Together, we are emboldened by our strengths.

As a team, we are greater than the sum of our actions.

It’s one thing to work together. To be a team requires something greater. Simple cooperation will not suffice. Even a basic trust only goes so far. In order to push further and faster, a special strength is required. You cannot find that strength with just anyone. A friend will encourage you, but a lover will empower you.

In you, I see someone who will do more than push me to my limits. When I’m with you, I feel an energy that carries me into uncharted territory. Where my will once gave out, I power through. I see the same grit in you. It’s as though my love is a conduit to a new kind of strength. With you, there’s nothing we cannot do.

We are lovers.

We are a team.

The impossible becomes possible.

The probable becomes attainable.

The tribulations become triumphs.

I hold your hand in mine and glance at the obstacles before us once more. This time, I don’t feel a shred of fear or doubt. I’m ready to take that first step. I look into your eyes. You’re ready to. Without a word, we take our first step. Our shared strength will push us, but our love will be what guides us.

Five Common Expectations Of Men That I Would Change

forholde-seg-til-sinte-barn

I love being a man. I’ll go on record as saying I appreciate masculinity and its many values. While masculinity in general has gotten a bad rap in recent years, albeit for absurd reasons, there are many things to enjoy and admire. At their best, good men can achieve great things and effect positive change in the world.

I’ll also go on record as saying that appreciating masculinity does not require that we undermine femininity. That really should go without saying, but in these sensitive times, it’s too easy for mixed messages to go viral. Saying men are good is not the same as saying women are bad or vice versa. That’s just common sense and I genuinely wish it were more common.

Now, that’s not to say being a man is all fun, games, and fart jokes. It does have its share of downsides and I’m not just referring to the biological part of it. Yes, getting kicked in the balls really hurts. Yes, sweating and smelling more often can be annoying. Those aspects of masculinity simply come with the package.

There are other, less concrete ways in which being a man can be frustrating. They have less to do with hormones and more to do with certain expectations. I’ve explored some of those expectations with respect to how men pursue love and the egregious double standards by which men are judged.

Others far smarter than me have discussed some of the bigger issues surrounding how men are treated in modern society, from attitudes about how disposable they are to how sexual assault against them is treated like a joke. Those are serious, legitimate issues that certainly warrant further discussion.

There are also smaller, less-obvious expectations of men that I are just as asinine and are worth changing. They’re necessarily stereotypes or cultural traditions. They’re just subtle norms that rarely get scrutinized. I think, in the name of pursuing greater balance and equality for everyone, these lesser-known aspects of being a man should be part of the discussion.

What follows are five subtle, but common expectations about men that I would like to change or at least reconsider. Some are just standard norms while others reflect certain attitudes and practices. I realize that some are harder to change than others, but they’re worth acknowledging. If anyone has something they’d like to add to this list, please let me know in the comments.

Expectation #1: Having To Wearing A Suit (Even In Blazing Heat)

I look good in a suit. Distinguished men who wear well-made suits are often seen as the pinnacle of male fashion. It’s why you’ll rarely see James Bond fight nameless henchmen in anything less fashionable than imported Armani. While I’m all for men looking good, I feel like men’s choices for high-quality fashion are really limited.

This is especially true in the summer when men are still required to wear suits while women can wear equally fashionable, but far more functional dresses and blouses. I enjoy wearing a suit as much as any fashion-minded man, but it’s downright unbearable when it’s hot. You don’t even have to be outside to feel it. Just being a building with bad air conditioner is enough.

I’m no fashion expert, but I feel like the emphasis on suits for men is over-emphasized. Women’s fashion is more diverse and offers greater flexibility for certain occasions. I acknowledge that some of that fashion is also uncomfortable and impractical. Why should anyone suffer that much for the sake of looking good?

I know there’s only so much anyone can do to change fashion trends, but a little innovation in the field of men’s formal attire would definitely help. At the very least, just having clothes that make summer heat more bearable for everyone will help everyone be more comfortable.

Expectation #2: Not Going To A Doctor (Even When We Should)

In my experience, men not going to a doctor is part stereotype and part attitude. There are more than a few taboos surrounding men’s collective aversion of doctors. Whether it’s due to male bravado or just the underlying assumption that men don’t need doctors as much as women, I think this expectation does more harm than good.

I say that as someone who has been guilty of avoiding doctor visits in the past. At one point, it caused me genuine pain because I refused to go to a doctor for what I thought was just allergies. It turned out I had a bad case of strep throat that I made considerably worse by not going sooner. I don’t care what your gender is. When some expectations lead to needless suffering, they’re worth re-evaluating.

With people, in general, becoming more health conscious, I think the time is right for men to embrace going to the doctor with the same care as women. It’ll won’t just help men become healthier, overall. It’ll help affirm that men’s suffering deserves to be treated with just as much urgency as that of women.

Expectation #3: Taking Less Time Off And Working More Overtime

This is one of those unwritten rules that really ought to be articulated more frequently. Whatever your professional field, be it construction, law, or flipping burgers, there will be times when overtime is necessary. In my experience, which I freely admit is anecdotal, I get the impression that men are expected to bear that burden first and without question.

That’s not to say that women avoid overtime. I know many women who put in longer hours at their jobs than their male co-workers. There’s just a general assumption that a man is going to do more of it and if he doesn’t, then there’s something wrong with him.

The same goes for taking time off. Most people don’t seem to bat an eye when a woman asks for a few days off. They won’t even ask why. If a man makes a similar request, it raises more curiosity and he’s expected to justify it. Again, this isn’t the case everywhere, but even without bringing maternity leave into the mix, men are just expected to work more and work longer.

Some of these expectations are more pronounced in the United States where paid parental leave is not mandated by law. In general, workers in the United States take less time off and work longer than other industrialized countries, which further compounds the issue. Even with regional differences, the attitude about men having to bear a greater work burden is worth reassessing.

After all, I think everyone would benefit by having more time off and not overworking themselves regularly. It’s better for everyone at every level of society.

Expectation #4: Always Knowing What A Lover Likes (Without Having To Ask)

It’s a common fantasy for horny women, but men are just as guilty of fueling it. A woman meets a handsome man. Sparks fly and things get intimate. As soon as the clothes come off, everything happens naturally and perfectly. The man knows just how to please her and he gives her the best lovemaking of her life.

It makes for a great sexy story. I’ve written more than a few of them. While it’s a great fantasy, it obscures a less sexy reality in which men aren’t mind-readers. It doesn’t matter how attractive or naturally endowed a man might be. He’s not going to know exactly how his partner wants to be pleased, by default. They have to actually communicate.

It sounds so logical, but fantasy often fuels those lofty expectations. I’ve known women who get downright frustrated when their boyfriend doesn’t do exactly what they want in bed to satisfy them, but admit they’ve never actually told them. They’ll often drop hints. They’ll even be playful about it. If a man asks for too many specifics, though, then something must be wrong with him.

As a fan of romance and intimacy, I’m very much in favor of lovers enjoying a satisfying sex life. However, the idea that a man should automatically know what satisfies their partner is just not fair. It’s true that some men really don’t know how women’s bodies work, but it’s also true that everyone is different in terms of what pleases them. Nobody is going to be satisfied if nobody communicates.

Again, it’s just common sense that misguided expectations do plenty to complicate. I can attest that most men want to satisfy their lovers. Anything that helps us do that is always welcome.

Expectation #5: Needing To Yell In Order To Be Serious

For certain people, yelling might as well a local dialect. Like Frank Murphy going off on a profanity-laced rant, it might as well be casual conversation. However, for the non-Frank Murphys of the world, there are certain expectations about people who yell and it feels like men have to start the race behind the curve.

I’ve seen in in personal and professional settings. A man will make an argument, but it’s not considered serious. If a woman made the same argument, it’s given more weight. There’s an assumption that if a woman brings it up, then it must be a major issue. It only reaches that same level for a man if he’s willing to yell his case.

To some extent, it’s a double standard. A woman yelling angrily is treated as an aberration while a man yelling with the same anger is just standard operating procedure. At the same time, a man who doesn’t yell or show some kind of escalated anger carries its own set of assumptions. Men have to be angry for it to be serious and if they’re not yelling, it must not be serious.

It often happens during debates about hot-button topics. It can even happen in a simple argument about pizza toppings. There are plenty of important issues that warrant yelling, but I believe expecting one gender to yell more than another only compounds those issues.

We live in a flawed world full of flawed people. Sometimes, we have to temper our expectations. In others, we try to hold one another to a higher standard. Men and women yell at one another enough for trivial reasons. We’re never going to stop yelling. At the very least, we should play by the same rules.

Jack Fisher’s Sexy Sunday Thoughts: Sexy Nerd Girl Edition

74072e4b4be5b4f1905d4bdb042c28b0

I love comics, video games, and superhero movies. Two decades ago, I would’ve been labeled a nerd or a geek for admitting that out loud. Go back a few more decades and there wasn’t just a stigma to it. There was a full-blown moral panic that’s almost too absurd to put into words.

Then, superhero movies began making billions at the box office. Say what you will about the genre, and plenty have, but nothing makes that much money without having a wide appeal to a wide variety of people. Among those people are the sexy nerd girls and, having dated at least one in the past, they have a special place in my heart.

These days, girls who admit to liking the same things as boys is still somewhat taboo, but there was a time when it was downright surprising. There was this one girl in middle school I knew who loved all things Nintendo. She could talk for hours about Nintendo games and Nintendo characters. If you just saw a picture of her, you probably wouldn’t have guessed that as being her passion.

She was a fun girl to hang out with. I’ve met other girls like her. They carry themselves with a special kind of sex appeal that any nerdy guy can appreciate. They completely counter the idea that being nerdy means having no sex appeal. For that, they have a special place in my heart and are deserving of some Sexy Sunday Thoughts. Enjoy!

“Thinking things through may save lives, but acting on impulses creates them.”

“Having a lover enjoys rough sex also tends to reveal how out of shape you are.”

“Whoever first developed a spanking fetish must have had confused parents.”

“Broken hearts take an emotional toll, but broken condoms take a financial toll.”

“When you think about it, a refractory period is basically your genitals on low battery.”

“It’s very likely that ideas on why women fake orgasms led to the first conspiracy theories.”

“Practically speaking, whoever said variety was the spice of life was probably a slut.”

To all the sexy nerd girls out there who blend their sexiness with their nerdiness, I sincerely thank you. I know it’s not easy participating in these things that are primarily dominated by men, some of which are socially awkward. Trust me when I say that your presence makes things better.

“Wall To Wall” A Sexy Short Story

original

The following is a sexy short story about unexpected reunions. Every now and then, it’s good to surprise your lover in an unexpected way. If done right, it can make for some of the sweetest, most romantic moments of your relationship. Hopefully, this story inspires other lovers out there to make that effort. Enjoy!

“Three months,” mused a restless, but excited Leslie Mayfield, “it’s been three whole months since I felt Rod’s loving touch.”

She’d been repeating that mantra since her plane landed an hour ago. Even though the flight had only been a couple hours, it might as well have been the longest trip of her life. Her time away from home and the man she loved had been strenuous, to say the least. Now, it was almost over and the cab driver couldn’t move fast enough.

Leslie fought the urge to yell at him, but it was already past midnight and Rod’s apartment wasn’t going anywhere. She just watched and waited anxiously, recounting how much distance and time had tested her relationship with her long-time love, Roddy Evans. So far, they’d passed with flying colors.

“Almost home,” Leslie said under her breath. “Just a few more minutes, baby. Wait just a few more minutes for me.”

It still sounded daunting. In many ways, it was. She and Rod were childhood sweethearts, having met in second grade when her family moved to the area. They started off as friends, but she knew she loved him before most girls got over their fear of cooties.

The romance that blossomed had been a passionate one. Since he lived only a couple blocks from her parents’ house, there was a lot of sneaking over and slipping into one another’s bedrooms. It happened so often during their senior year of high school that her mother gave up trying to stop her. Rod’s father even left a latter under his bedroom. The whole neighborhood knew how much they loved each other and they didn’t mind expressing it.

That was a big part of what made their first year of college so difficult. Leslie had gotten a scholarship to a prominent all-girls school in another state. She would’ve loved to go with Rod to the big state university that was less than an hour from their hometown, but the opportunity was too great. He was the one who ultimately convinced her to accept the scholarship, believing they could continue their romance over a distance.

She shared that belief. Despite seeing many female friends break up with boyfriends due to distance and direction, she and Rod fought to make it work. It hadn’t been easy. There were many lonely nights in cold beds, exchanging loving texts, some of which got very heated. Leslie didn’t realize how much a lack of sex would affect her until she went an entire month without making love to her boyfriend. Since then, it had been a test in patience and restraint.

“I hope you’re still awake,” Leslie said while anxiously shifting her legs. “I don’t know if I’ll be able to contain myself once I see you.”

She was getting wet just thinking about his touch. She almost regretted wearing clean panties. It was strange, but telling. She hadn’t been all that sexual growing up, especially compared to her free-spirited older sisters. However, after that fateful first time when she and Rod made love, it awakened a part of her that she didn’t know was there.

It might have just been a byproduct of being so in love with someone.

It might have been Rod’s knowledge of the female body, thanks to having a doctor for a father.

It might have just been the fact that she was hornier than most female college freshman.

Whatever the reason, a lack of sex had been one of the hardest parts of their long-distance relationship. Even the aid of a vibrator only did so much. She still needed to feel Ron’s body against hers. That was the only way that three months of desire could be satiated.

“We’re here, ma’am,” the driver finally said. “Do you need help with your bags?”

“That’s okay. I’ve got it!” Leslie assured him.

She managed to stop thinking about Rod touching her body long enough to pay the driver and remove her bags from the trunk. She hadn’t packed much. She didn’t need much because Rod was taking her home for Thanksgiving in about a week. He didn’t know she’d finished classes early and flown out ahead of time. She hoped to surprise him, knowing he was a night owl, especially on Friday nights.

“I know you’re awake,” she said, staring up at the second-floor apartment located a block from his campus. “If you can see me from that window, I hope you’re as eager as I am.”

As the cab driver rode off, Leslie made her way to into the apartment building, moving with more urgency than she had when she booked an early flight. Her heart raced. Emotions ran higher. The touch she so desperately craved was almost within reach. The line between wanting Rod’s love and just wanting to have sex with him blurred.

Upon reaching the second floor, she practically ran down the hall towards the entrance of his apartment. The lights were on from the outside. He was definitely awake, probably doing some last-minute homework. She was prepared to bang on the door to get the attention.

Before she even reached it, though, it opened. At that moment, the man she loved and the touch she craved was no longer a feeling or a memory. He was real and standing before her wearing only black sweatpants and a t-shirt.

“Oh my…Leslie?” he gasped in disbelief.

“Yep! It’s me, babe!” she said proudly. “I caught an early flight and paid extra for first class. I missed you that much.”

Rod was still in shock. He blinked a few times, as if to make sure she wasn’t dreaming. She decided to convince him, tossing aside her bags and jumping up into his arms. As soon as he felt his loving warmth, she kissed him. If that didn’t convince him she was real, then nothing would.

“Leslie…it’s you. It’s really you!” Rod exclaimed upon tasting her lips. “I missed you! You have no idea how much I missed you!”

“Trust me,” Leslie said, “I know.”

She kissed him again to make her point. Again, it seemed to convince him. Once the shock wore off, he began kissing back. In fact, he kissed back hard, twirling his tongue with hers while deepening their embrace. Finally, the touch that they hadn’t felt for three long months was there for them to savor.

However, it wasn’t enough. Even in the late hour of the night, after a two-hour flight, that hot feeling between her legs didn’t wane. If anything, it intensified.

“Inside,” she said to him, breaking the kiss upon realizing they were still in the doorway.

“Right,” Rod said sheepishly.

Already short of breath, he led her into his mid-sized apartment. He even carried one of her bags, a reminder that distance hadn’t made him any less a gentleman. As soon as they were inside and he closed the door behind him, she looked around to see if they were alone.

The apartment was typical of off-campus college housing. It didn’t have much, aside from two bedrooms and a single bathroom. It wasn’t very neat, which Leslie expected. Rod had a lot of great qualities, but keeping a room clean wasn’t one of them. There was multiple empty pizza boxes stacked on the kitchen counter.

The mess didn’t bother her, though. If anything, it was a welcome change of pace from her uptight roommate, who got upset every time she didn’t fold her bed sheets. It was not unlike his room back home in which they’d shared plenty of passionate nights. Just seeing it was enough to keep her blood flowing in all the right directions.

“Please tell me your roommate is out tonight,” Leslie said intently as she took her coat off.

“It’s Friday night. You know Mike always spends Friday’s at his girlfriend’s place,” Rod pointed out, his voice quickly taking a playful undertone.

“Just making sure,” said Leslie, “because I’ve missed you so damn much these past three months. I don’t think I can go a second longer without your love.”

She didn’t bother finding a place for her bag, nor did she wait for Rod to sweet talk her, as he so often did in their private moments. Instead, Leslie opted to skip several steps by stripping down right there in the foyer, taking off her sweater and shirt in one motion while slipping out of her jeans with another.

Now in just her bra and panties, Rod’s eyes widened at the sight. It was as though he hadn’t even seen a half-naked woman in three months. For a man with an internet connection going to a state school, it revealed a lot about him. It affirmed that he had eyes only for her and he’d missed using them to admire her naked body.

“Whoa,” Rod said in a daze, “just when I thought it was going to be another lonely night with a bottle of lube.”

“We can still use that lube if you want,” she said seductively.

“Let’s…keep that optional for now. I just hope you’re not too jet lagged.”

“It was only a two-hour flight,” she chuckled. “I’m as alert as any horny woman can possibly be at this hour.”

“Good, because I just lost all interest in my biology report.”

He spoke with the intensity of a man who’d been forced to cap his libido for one too many lonely nights. Seeing her in her underwear was all it took to blow the lid off that cap. Leslie goaded him with her seductive gaze. He needed no further incentive.

Like a man possessed with passion, he threw his arms around her and kissed her again. That sweet feeling of his hands making contact with the bare skin of her back and thighs triggered a fresh firestorm of sensations that Leslie hadn’t felt in too long. It firmly established that there would be no catching up or small talk. She and Rod were going to make love. Moreover, they were going to make up for lost time.

“The bedroom,” was all he got out in between the swirling lips.

“Lead the way!” Leslie purred.

With a strength befitting of his stature, Rod cupped her butt with both hands and lifted her up off the floor. Instinctively, she threw her legs around his waist and held onto his shoulders so he could carry her down the hall and into his bedroom. He must have been working out because he practically sprinted to the end of the hall.

As soon as they entered the messy bedroom, she went to work tearing off his clothes. His shirt was the first to go. The sweatpants quickly followed, along with his boxers. He was already semi-hard, his dick looking every bit as happy to see her.

“Ooh! Looks like some parts of you missed me more than others,” Leslie teased.

“Says the woman with noticeably wet panties,” he quipped.

They laughed and kissed some more, quickly making their way to the unmade bed that was still covered in dirty laundry. It was only a few feet away, but still ended up being too far. As soon as he shut the door, he set her down so, freeing his hands to remove her bra.

As soon as her breasts came tumbling out, he attacked them with his lips and hands, evoking the kind of deep moans that Leslie hadn’t made since their senior prom. While he reacquainted himself with her breasts, she slipped out of her panties, leaving her as naked as him.

“Mmm…that’s better,” Leslie said upon kicking off her panties, “naked and alone with my boyfriend on a Friday night.”

“Hearing you say it out loud still sounds like a dream…a very sexy dream,” Rod said, both hands still on her breasts.

“Then, I guess you better make love to me before you wake up.”

What happened next was a testament to how horny two lovers could be after three months apart. She and Rod kissed again, diving deep into a naked embrace, her exposed skin pressing up against his manly sinews. Almost immediately, hands wildly roamed. Hers navigated the sinews of his back, shoulders, and arms. His found their way to her hips, butt, and inner thighs. At one point, his fingers grazed the outer folds of her pussy. That dispensed any further need for foreplay.

After three months of exchanging love only through words and pictures, they needed something more overt. That meant having sex with the passion of two lovers denied. It also meant they didn’t even make it to the bed.

“Rod…I’m so hot for you,” she gasped. “Please, do me!”

Her lover responded with actions rather than words, turning her around and pinning her up against the wall next to the door. There was nothing subtle about the nature of their passion. There was an appropriate time for elaborate romance and games. It was definitely not that time.

“I missed this amazing ass,” said Rod, giving her butt a light swat as he positioned himself behind her, “almost as much as your pussy.”

“Then, what are you waiting for?” Leslie beckoned. “Another three months of celibacy?”

“Fuck no!”

Drunk on lust and full of pent-up arousal, he grabbed hold of her waist with one hand and guided his member to her wet entrance with the other. She could already feel how hard and erect he was, his manhood practically aching for her intimate depth. In the past, she and Rod liked to tease each other, really drawing out the foreplay. Then again, in the past they hadn’t gone months on end without sex.

With a hard grunt in a firm thrust, her lover entered her depths with his throbbing member. At last, their flesh was united once more. It had been so long, but worth the wait.

“Oohhh Rod!” Leslie cried out. “This…need this…so bad!”

“You and me both…my love,” he whispered into her ear.

That deep, masculine voice of his sent her deeper into a daze of lust. She pressed harder against the wall, elevating her right leg slightly so that Rod could get in as deep as he needed and at just the right angle. From there, an outpouring of sexual energy ensued.

Like a man possessed – or a man who just hadn’t been laid for too long – Rod pumped his cock into her throbbing folds, his hardened flesh sliding and slithering within her moist depths. Their naked bodies moved and clashed together, hot skin rubbing against hot skin after months of relying on old memories of loving touch. It was passion and ecstasy at its most pure.

It felt so good. Leslie hadn’t felt sex that good since her last birthday when Rod took her to her parents’ beach house. He hadn’t forgotten how she liked to be fucked. He remembered how to fondle her clit while humping her from behind. He also remembered she loved when he nibbled on her neck. When he held up her leg and pushed her up against the wall even harder, so much so her breasts mashed against the cold masonry, it was enough to send her to the brink of orgasm.

“Ooh fuck! Rod, I…I’m coming!” Leslie cried out.

“Already? Good!” he said with a grunt and a grin.

It wasn’t the fastest she’d ever achieved orgasm during sex, but it was close. When the feeling struck, it was like an old dam finally bursting, unleashing a torrent of ecstasy that crashed over her from head to toe.

It was incredible. She raked her nails down the wall, arching her back and gasping for air as her inner muscles contracted in accord with her release. Her vibrator might have given her plenty of orgasms over the past few months, but none made her feel so loved and fulfilled. Only Rod could do that.

To show her love and appreciation, she turned her head and captured his lips in a loving kiss, which helped steady the pace of their loving, albeit temporarily.

“Rod,” she whispered to him, “keep going.”

He got the message, fleshing her a playful grin. Still possessed with desire and very much in need of his own release, he briefly withdrew his cock from her so he could turn her around and pin her up against the wall once more. As soon as she felt the cold painted brick against her back, he lifted her up in his arms, hitched them over his elbows, and entered her still-throbbing pussy.

From there, the sex resumed. He was more urgent than before, grunting and thrusting with determined grit, his expression awash in bliss and passion. She clung to his shoulders, encouraging him with her loving gaze and occasionally kissing down his unshaven face, as if to guide him to his own taste of ecstasy.

“Go on, my love,” Leslie told him in her most seductive voice. “Get yours!”

“Oohhh Leslie!” he exclaimed.

That must have been the trigger he needed. After a few more cycles of heated thrusting, her lover crossed that magical threshold. She felt his member tense as his entire body shuddered under the weight of his release. She smiled and caressed his face as he released his manly juices up into her depths, clinging to him as he soaked in the ecstasy with her.

It was a beautiful sight, seeing her lover so impassioned and satisfied. He was already breathing heavily, but it couldn’t just be from the rigors of sex. He was an athlete who could run a couple miles without breaking a sweat. Making love to her after a month of having no intimate contact required a special level of exertion.

“I love you,” Rod said through his orgasmic daze.

“I love you too,” she told him.

“Not being with you…was so hard.”

“I know,” Leslie said, “but I’m here now.”

She kissed him again, the outburst of lust briefly giving way to more tender sentiments. It gave their bodies and hearts a chance to settle. Rod finally loosened his grip, withdrawing from her and letting her stand on her own two feet again. She still needed to lean on him and the wall for leverage. Her lower body was still reeling from their sex, albeit in the best possible way.

They lingered in each other’s arms, just kissing and holding one another, enjoying the feeling of their naked bodies. However, Leslie didn’t get the sense that her lover was tired, let alone satisfied. She certainly wasn’t inclined to sleep and not just because she took a nap during her flight.

“You’re here. You’re really here,” he said after their lips finally parted.

“Do you really need more convincing?” Leslie said, dazed and half-jokingly.

“No. I just never realized how hard it would be…us being apart for so long,” Rod said in a more serious tone.

“Three months wasn’t that long.”

“Maybe so,” he said, “but it sure felt like it.”

“Never said it didn’t.”

They kissed again, letting their naked bodies enmesh once more. Her legs remained weak, but she managed to stay upright. The bed was looking more and more inviting, but the way Rod touched her hinted he had more strength to spare. The feeling of his semi-hard cock pressing up against her thigh hinted at something other than strength.

“Mmm…how are you still hard?” Leslie asked, still holding onto his shoulders.

“I missed you,” he said with a half-grin.

“That’s a half-answer, Rod.”

“You want me to give you the other half? Or do you want to make love again?”

“Well, we do have a lot of catching up to do so…”

She let her words trail off into a seductive fade. At the same time, she slipped a hand down to his member and stroked it, keeping it hard and communicating her want for more sex. Parts of her body were still reeling, but her desires overshadowed any reticence she might have felt.

“Between now and my class tomorrow…we’ve got time!” said Rod.

“Then, let’s use it, my love.”

Seizing the moment, showing her impassioned side as well, Leslie summoned more strength and took charge. She kissed her lover again, still stroking his cock and guiding him towards his bed. However, they missed again. She ended up pinning him against the other wall next to his dresser, right next to where he kept a stack of textbooks. Rather than navigate the mess, she made use of it.

“I missed a lot of things in college,” she whispered seductively into his ear. “The taste of your cock was one of them.”

Needing no further details, Rod leaned back against the wall, just as she’d done moments ago, and watched as she dropped to her knees. Then, while looking up at him with her seductive gaze, she hungrily engulfed his cock with her lips and tongue.

It tasted every bit as good as she’d remembered, his throbbing male flesh in her mouth. Still bathing in the afterglow of her first orgasm with Rod in months, Leslie proceeded to give him the most thorough oral sex she’d ever attempted. After his first release, he was somewhat sensitive, but that didn’t stop her from pleasing her lover, as only she could.

“Oohhh Leslie!” he gasped, grabbing onto her head as it bobbed back and forth along his length. “I missed your amazing blowjobs, too!”

Encouraged, Leslie shot him more seductive gases as she sucked and slurped along his length, rebuilding his arousal and getting him fully erect. Along the way, she fondled her still-moist pussy with her hand. She and Rod were no stranger to extensive act lovemaking. They’d learned early on that they had more stamina than most, going multiple rounds and exploring multiple acts. At that moment, they needed all the sexual endurance they could muster.

“Mmm! Ready to go again?” Leslie asked after giving his shaft a thorough lick.

“I’m ready!” Rod said intently. “And we’re not stopping until I’ve pinned up against every wall!”

“Every wall? Is that your thing now?”

“When I’m through with you…it just might be!”

Leslie wasn’t sure where that was coming from. Rod had always been more adventurous than her when it came to expanding their sex life. He wasn’t one to just curl up in bed in a darkened room. He liked to push the sexual envelope. More often than not, it made for better sex and deeper intimacy. Having not had any of that for months, Leslie didn’t complain.

Drawing on the energy and passion she’d built up for their overdue reunion, she returned to her feet and re-entered her lover’s arms. He took it from there, crashing his lips against hers again and leading her to the adjacent wall next to his closet. Just as before, he pinned her up against the hard surface, lifting her leg and angling his pelvis perfectly with hers. With another hard thrust and a firm hold on her thighs, he entered her again. The next round of their wall-to-wall lovemaking had begun.

“Ooh Rod! I love it! Ooh I fucking love it!” Leslie moaned.

“I thought you would,” he grinned before grasping her breasts and kissing her.

It wasn’t as desperate or urgent as before. Their sex took on a steadier rhythm, but it was still plenty heated. He worked his hips with just the right fervor, pumping his manhood into her depths and stimulating her most intimate areas every step of the way. He was also more tender with his kissing and more affectionate with his touching, caressing her breasts and cupping her face.

They went at it in that position, testing both their stamina and their balance. It took a bit longer than before to get to the brink of orgasm, but she still got there, thanks to her lover’s dedication. When she came again, Leslie made it a point to rake her nails down his back, leaving the kinds of marks she hoped would turn their overdue reunion into a fond, sexy memory.

“Rod…my love,” she said in her orgasmic daze. “More! Give me more!”

Her lover replied with a grunt and a grin, kissing her neck and letting her moan through the rest of her orgasm. With her body still reeling, he lifted her up in his arms again and carried her over to the last wall that hadn’t supported their naked bodies.

As it just so happened, his desk was located along that wall. Rod took full advantage of it, setting her down atop it with her back leaned up against it. That worked out perfectly. Her legs were weak from multiple orgasms and from so much exertion. She was all too eager to rest her butt on the desk, hook her legs around his waist, and let her lover have at it.

He certainly did so and with even more vigor than before. Without having to support her body in his arms, he was free to channel his remaining strength into his humping. That ultimately benefited the both of them.

As she held onto the desk, Leslie locked her eyes with that of her lover, encouraging him with her gaze. She watched as he became more determined, holding onto her waist and hammering away with his hips, working his member within her still-throbbing depths. He rocked her body harder with each motion, making her breasts bounce along the way, a sight he always admired.

He kept pushing himself and she kept matching him, thrust for thrust. It wasn’t just an act of love or lust. She and Rod had dealt with distance and loneliness. It was still new to them, going extended periods without their loving touch. It could’ve strained or even broken their love. Instead, it just made it stronger when they finally got a chance to reunite.

“So much!” Rod gasped with increasing desperation. “Missed you…so much!”

“Me too, Rod. Me too,” Leslie said to him, caressing his face with both hands.

Her loving gaze and sweet touch helped balance the lurid undulations of their naked bodies. It also helped guide Rod to another peak. She could sense he was close. She was close again too. She didn’t need another sexual release to remind herself how much she’d loved and missed her boyfriend. It was still a welcome and refreshing feeling.

“Leslie…I’m close!” he said through labored movements.

“So am I, my love,” Leslie said.

They clung to one another harder, his nails digging into her naked skin while she held onto his face. It took just a few more thrusts to get her to that special plateau again. She made sure he joined her, digging her feet into his lower back and tensing her inner muscles to help unleash that magical wave of bliss.

“Oohhh Rod!”

“Ohhh Leslie!”

It was a sweet, sensuous culmination. Once again, Leslie curled her toes and arched her body in accord with the surges of pleasure that followed. Rod did the same, letting out a deep moan as he achieved his release, another round of his manly fluids mixing in with her feminine juices.

Their shared orgasm marked the last wall in Rod’s undersized bedroom. He’d done what he promised to do, making love to her against every wall. In the process, they’d vented all the pent-up longing and desire. Distance and time had created new obstacles for their love. However, it also gave them a new appreciation for wall-to-wall lovemaking.

“So…is this what we’re going to do from now on?” asked Leslie, still panting heavily. “Make love from wall-to-wall…after being apart for months on end?”

“It…could be,” said Rod, clinging to her waist and pulling her closer. “It would make the wait…easier.”

“And more worthwhile,” she added.

“That too,” he said. “When you miss someone that much…you find new ways to show how much you love them.”

“And fuck them, for that matter,” she said with a chuckle.

“That too!”

They both laughed before sharing another kiss. At some point, their naked bodies finally parted and they made their way to the bed for some much needed rest. After three long months, neither she nor Rod had to endure another lonely night. They could fall asleep in each other’s arms, feeling each other’s loving warmth.

It felt like the end of a journey. Their love had been tested. For the first time in their young lives, they had to live apart from one another, hoping distance and the college experience didn’t push them apart. Leslie liked to think they had passed with flying colors. If absence really was supposed to make the heart grow fonder, then she and Rod were living proof of it.

Why Biological Weapons Will Be A (MUCH) Bigger Threat In The Future

diabolical-biological-warfare

It wasn’t too long ago that the biggest existential threat facing humanity was nuclear war. I’ve noted before how distressingly close we’ve come to a nuclear disaster and how the threat of a nuclear holocaust is still present. However, that threat has abated in recent decades, especially as nuclear weapons have gotten so destructive that their use is somewhat redundant.

More recently, people have become more concerned about the threat posed by advanced artificial intelligence. The idea is that at some point, an AI will become so intelligent and capable that we won’t be able to stop it in the event it decides that humanity must go extinct. It’s the basis of every Terminator movie, as well as an Avengers movie.

While I certainly have my concerns about the dangers of advanced artificial intelligence, it’s not the threat that worries me most these days. We still have some measure of control over the development of AI and we’re in a good position to guide that technology down a path that won’t destroy the human race. The same cannot be said for biological weapons.

If there’s one true threat that worries me more with each passing day, it’s that. Biological weapons are one of those major threats that does not slip under the radar, as evidenced by plenty of movies, books, and TV shows. However, the extent of that threat has become more understated in recent years and has the potential to be something more powerful than nuclear weapons.

By powerful, I don’t necessarily mean deadlier. At the end of the day, nuclear weapons are still more capable of rendering the human race extinct and turning the whole planet into a radioactive wasteland. The true power of biological weapons less about how deadly they can be and more about how useful they could be to potential governments, tyrants, or extremists.

For most of human history, that power has been limited. There’s no question that disease has shaped the course of human history. Some plagues are so influential that they mark major turning points for entire continents. The same can be said for our ability to treat such diseases. However, all these diseases had one fatal flaw that kept them from wiping out the human race.

Thanks to the fundamental forces of evolution, a deadly pathogen can only be so deadly and still survive. After all, an organism’s ultimate goal isn’t to kill everything it encounters. It’s to survive and reproduce. It can’t do that if it kills a carrier too quickly. If it’s too benign, however, then the carrier’s immune system will wipe it out.

That’s why even diseases as deadly as Ebola and Influenza can only be so infectious. If they kill all their hosts, then they die with them. That’s why, much to the chagrin of creationists, evolution doesn’t favor the natural emergence of apocalyptic diseases. They can still devastate the human race, but they can’t necessarily wipe it out. It would only wipe itself out in the process and most lifeforms avoid that.

It’s also why the large-scale biological weapons programs of the 20th century could only be so effective. Even if a country manufactured enough doses of an existing disease to infect every person on the planet, it won’t necessarily be deadly enough to kill everyone. Even at its worst, smallpox and bubonic plague never killed more than two-thirds of those it infected.

That’s not even factoring in how difficult it is to distribute these pathogens to everyone without anyone noticing. It’s even harder today because powerful governments invest significant resources into preventing and containing an outbreak. If large numbers of people start getting sick and dropping dead at a rapid rate, then someone will notice and take action.

That’s why, for the most part, biological weapons are both ethically untenable and not very useful as weapons of mass destruction. They’re difficult to control, difficult to distribute, and have unpredictable effects. They also require immense resources, considerable technical know-how, and a keen understanding of science. Thankfully, these are all things that extreme religious zealots tend to lack.

For the most part, these powerful constraints have kept biological weapons from being too great a threat. However, recent advances in biotechnology could change that and it’s here where I really start to worry. With recent advances in gene-editing and the emergence of tools like CRISPR, those limitations that kept biological weapons in check may no longer be insurmountable.

While I’ve done plenty to highlight all the good that tools like CRISPR could do, I don’t deny that there are potential dangers. Like nuclear weapons, this technology is undeniably powerful and powerful technology always carries great risks. With CRISPR, the risks aren’t as overt as obvious as fiery mushroom clouds, but they can be every bit as deadly.

In theory, CRISPR makes it possible to cut and paste genetic material with the same ease as arranging scattered puzzle pieces. With right materials and tools, this technology could be used to create genetic combinations in organisms that could never occur naturally or even with artificial selection.

Imagine a strain of smallpox that was lethal 100 percent of the time and just as infectious.

Imagine a strain of the flu that was as easy to spread as the common cold, but as deadly as bubonic plague.

Imagine a strain of an entirely new pathogen that is extremely lethal and completely immune to all modern medicine.

These are all possible, albeit exceedingly difficult, with genetic editing. Unlike nuclear weapons, it doesn’t require the procurement of expensive and dangerous elements. It just needs DNA, RNA, and a lab with which to produce them. It’s a scary idea, but that’s actually not the worst of it, nor is it the one that worries me most.

A doomsday bioweapon like that might be appealing to generic super-villains, but like nuclear weapons, they’re not very strategic because they kill everyone and everything. For those with a more strategic form of blood-lust, advanced biological weapons offer advantages that sets them apart from any other weapon.

Instead of a pathogen infecting everyone it comes into contact with, what if it only infected a certain group of people that carry a specifics traits associated with a particular race or ethnic group? What if someone wanted to be even more strategic than that and craft a pathogen that attacked only one specific person?

In principle, this is possible if you can manipulate the genetics of a disease in just the right way. Granted, it’s extremely difficult, but the potential utility makes it more useful than a nuclear bomb will ever be.

Suddenly, a government or terrorist organization doesn’t need a skilled assassin on the level of James Bond to target a specific person or group. They just need the right genetic material and a working knowledge of how to program it into a synthetic pathogen. It could even be made to look like a completely different disease, which ensured it didn’t raise any red flags.

It’s not the ultimate weapon, but it’s pretty darn close. Biological weapons with this level of refinement could potentially target entire groups of people and never put the attackers at risk. As a strategy, it can effectively end an entire conflict without a shot being fired. Those infected wouldn’t even know it was fired if the pathogen were effectively distributed.

It’s one of those weapons that both terrorists and governments would be tempted to use. The most distressing part is they could use it in a way that’s difficult to detect, let alone counter. Even after all the death and destruction has been wrought, how do you even prove that it was a result of a bioweapon? Even if you could prove that, how would you know who made it?

These are the kinds of questions that only have disturbing answers. They’re also the reasons why I believe biological weapons are poised to become a far bigger issue in the coming years. Even if it’s unlikely they’ll wipe out the human race, they can still cause a special kind of destruction that’s almost impossible to counter.

Unlike any other weapon, though, the destruction could be targeted, undetectable, and unstoppable. Those who wield this technology would have the power to spread death with a level of precision and tact unprecedented in human history. While I believe that humanity will eventually be able to handle dangerous technology like artificial intelligence, I doubt it’ll ever be capable of handling a weapon like that.

Daily Sexy Musings: Soothing Heartbreak

54714-sun-heart-autumn-leaf-39379.800w.tn_

There’s no way around it. Heartbreak sucks. It feels awful on so many levels. It may not leave a physical mark, but it’s one of those wounds that never seems to heal. You can stub your toe a hundred times or break every bone in your body. Those things still heal. Heartbreak doesn’t.

I know this because I’ve endured my share of heartbreak over the years. I’m not just referring to break-ups in a relationship, either. There have been times when someone I’ve had strong feelings for just flat out rejects me and not in a polite way. Suddenly, those feelings that once gave you comfort and hope are now a source of pain. Even though you move on, it still hurts.

However, as painful as heartbreak can be, it can open us up to a unique kind of intimacy. Sometimes, it comes from a close friend. Sometimes, it comes from someone who goes onto become a lover. Whatever the case, these are the moments in which we’re at our most vulnerable. Our wounded soul is laid bare. We seek comfort and those who provide it have a special place in our hearts.

It doesn’t always lead you to the love of your life. It may not even lead you to another relationship. Regardless of the outcome, there’s a powerful intimacy at work. It’s an unspoken intimacy and one that doesn’t always require something sexual. However, when it gets to that level, the pain of heartbreak becomes something else entirely.

While heartbreak rarely starts off as something sexy and intimate, it can lead to something genuinely profound in the right moment. Those moments are rare, but they’re not fleeting. This Daily Sexy Musing is my attempt to capture such a moment. Enjoy!

I’m deeply hurt.

I’m in so much pain.

I’m battered and broken.

I’m at my weakest state.

This is how you found me. I’m a cracked shell. My heart lays in ruin, every piece scattered to the winds. The love I thought I had is no more. What once made me strong has rendered me weak and vulnerable. The loss defies words. I try to articulate it, but the words only tell a fraction of the story. They can never do justice to the pain.

However, you still listen. In my darkest hour, you stay with me and give me comfort. From the ashes of my tattered soul, you create the forge. It’s still up to me to put the pieces back together.

Through you, I find renewed strength.

Through you, I pull myself up.

Through you, I finally feel something other than heartache.

It happens slowly, but steadily. What I lost can never be regained. The mark it left will never disappear. At first, I despair. Then, I accept it. Thanks to you, I dare to embrace it and the bitter memories that come with it. From those memories are lessons and from those lessons, you show me a new path.

In heartache, I endure harsh failure.

In heartache, I explore deeper passions.

In heartache, I uncover profound truths.

In heartache, I see who is there for me and who has left me behind.

You’re here now. I feel your care and your love. From it, heartache is the end of one thing and the beginning of something more.

Jack Fisher’s Weekly Quick Pick Comic: Spider-Man #1

It’s an unwritten rule in superhero comics. Certain characters are only ever allowed to grow, evolve, and mature to a limited extent. Whereas some like Iron Man, Hulk, and Captain Marvel are allowed to grow and mature, others tend to revert to a rigid status quo that keeps them in a certain state, often for marketing purposes. Few characters are beholden to this rule as Spider-Man.

Whether he’s Peter Parker or your friendly neighborhood wall-crawler, Spider-Man is rarely allowed to grow beyond the down-on-his-luck, can’t-hold-a-job, struggles-with-relationships situation he’s been in since the Nixon Administration. Granted, he can still have plenty of fun, entertaining adventures in that state, but it can get predictable and monotonous after a while.

Then, every once in a while, you get a book like “Spider-Man #1” by J. J. Abrams, Henry Abrams, and artist Sara Pichelli that dares to shake things up with the standard Spider-Man formula. It’s not in the same continuity as the mainline Amazing Spider-Man books, but that’s exactly what helps it stand out. It has a chance to do something different with Spider-Man’s story and it takes full advantage of it.

Using the same approach as “Into The Spider-Verse,” this book tells a new kind of story that puts Spider-Man into a whole new situation. For once, it’s unpredictable. There’s no status quo to revert to. It has to build an entirely new world for Spider-Man. Both Abrams and Pichelli prove they’re up for the challenge.

This new world is not for the faint of heart, especially if you’re a fan of Spider-Man never being allowed to mature past 30. It’s a world where Spider-Man’s responsibilities finally caught up with him. He was able to save the day. He was able to defeat a villain named Cadaverous, a name that isn’t quite as ridiculous as it sounds, but he paid a high price.

That’s because this version of Spider-Man wasn’t just late for work, late for a date, or missing his rent payment again. This Spider-Man had a lot more to lose. He had a family. He and Mary Jane are married and not just trying to schedule dates. They have a son named Ben. Peter Parker has every reason to come home safe, intact, and triumphant.

I won’t spoil too many details, but I’ll just say that doesn’t happen. In this case, saving the day doesn’t necessarily mean keeping Galactus from eating it. Yes, Spider-Man does save lives. However, the life he can’t save ends up changing his life, his responsibilities, and his ability to shake hands. That last one wasn’t a joke, by the way.

In other versions, including many alternate realities, some being more ridiculous than others, this sort of loss would’ve broken Spider-Man. It would’ve broken his family too. It’s one of Spider-Man’s most famous foils. When he loses too much, he quits being Spider-Man. While it rarely lasts, this is a world with different dynamics. He actually has a reason to not be Spider-Man anymore.

His son, Ben, gives him even more reason and not just because of the losses they’ve endured. Unlike some of Spider-Man’s other alternate reality kids, Ben is not nearly as endearing or likable. He’s young, he’s impulsive, and he’s angry at the world. Essentially, he’s not the kind of kid you’d want to continue Spider-Man’s legacy.

At the same time, Ben shows that he still has some of the traits that make Spider-Man the iconic hero he is. He’s not a lost cause. He’s not some brooding loser who looks for excuses to be miserable. He even comes off as genuinely relateable, more so than Peter Parker in some respects. You may not entirely sympathize with him, but you can still understand him.

This kid is every bit as haunted as his father. Unlike his father, though, he’s a kid who doesn’t have years of being a battle-hardened superhero under his belt. Even if he inherited his father’s super-powers, he didn’t inherit his ability to cope with loss. He didn’t have his proverbial Uncle Ben moment because so much of his situation was beyond his control.

Overall, “Spider-Man #1” is a different kind of Spider-Man story, but not just because it takes place in an alternate continuity. It doesn’t directly mirror old, time-tested Spider-Man tropes. It also doesn’t paint Peter Parker as someone who simply crumbles when he loses too much. He, Ben, and the supporting cast around him simply do their best to move forward with their lives.

For a superhero comic that tends to regress to the status quo more than most, it’s both refreshing and engaging. For once, we have a Spider-Man story we can’t expect to end with him sleeping on his Aunt May’s couch because he missed his rent again. We have a different Peter Parker with an emotionally unstable son trying to make the most of a tough situation.

On top of that, the villain responsible for that situation is still out there. We don’t know much about it or whether he’s related to any of Spider-Man’s long list of enemies, but that only adds to the intrigue. Abrams and Pichelli are taking Spider-Man’s story in a new direction and there’s no telling what might happen. As someone who has read more Spider-Man comics than most, I find that genuinely refreshing.

Swing Volume 2: Evolution Of A (Uniquely Sexy) Romance

747522._sx1280_ql80_ttd_

Every relationship is different. How they come together and how they stay together varies from couple to couple. Some work perfectly fine a traditional, monogamous setup. You marry one person and that’s who you make love to, till death do you part. There’s nothing wrong with that and plenty of great love stories can be told from it.

However, that approach doesn’t work for everyone and there’s nothing wrong with that, either. It’s just more challenging to tell a non-monogamous love story without it becoming overly pornographic. That didn’t stop Matt Hawkins and Jenni Cheung, with help from artist Linda Sejic, from telling a genuine, compelling love story about non-monogamy in “Swing: Volume 1.”

When I reviewed this graphic novel last year, I highlighted how it perfectly balanced the romance with the sex appeal. The first part of the story was about how its two protagonists, Cathy Chang and Dan Lincoln, fell in love. Then, after settling into married life, complete with two kids and decent careers, they sought to recapture that passionate spark that helped bring them together.

It culminated with them navigating the colorful world of open relationships. At the same time, it laid the foundation for a deeper romantic journey in a future sequel. Having waited anxiously for over a year, I can safely say that “Swing: Volume 2” was worth the patience. This book doesn’t just continue Dan and Cathy’s journey. It takes the sexiness and romance to new heights.

swing2

The story picks up where the first book left off. Dan and Cathy got their first state of the non-monogamous lifestyle and they liked it. That’s made abundantly clear through Yishan Li and Linda Sejic’s art in first several pages. However, that’s not the end of their romantic journey. It’s just another step in the process.

Now that Dan and Cathy are in this sexy new world, their next challenge is successfully navigating it. Having a few threesomes is fun, but the swinging world of non-monogamy is much bigger. It’s also a world that requires Dan and Cathy to confront certain aspects of their relationship that they’ve never had to deal with before.

While Dan admits that he’d been with multiple women, Cathy has only been intimate with one man. She lived a more sheltered life, which was nicely established in the first book. The second book builds on that, showing that there are parts of her sexuality that she hasn’t explored. That desire to explore this world is what helps drive the plot and the drama in “Swing: Volume 2.”

A taste of that drama.

Yes, there is drama. It’s not all fun sexy time all the time. While those times are certainly present, Hawkins and Cheung make this exploration feel genuine and believable. From how Cathay and Dan establish a set of rules to how they struggle to find compatible partners, the various details of the story come off as something that can happen in the real world.

There are triumphs and setbacks. Some of those setbacks make for the funniest moments of the story. Like any relationship, an open relationship takes a great deal of work. Dan and Cathy find that out the hard way on more than one occasion. That only makes the fruits of their labor satisfying, both in terms of plot and sex appeal.

Compared to the first book, “Swing: Volume 2” has a lot more sex appeal and I’m not just referring to Li and Sejic’s graphic, yet tasteful depictions. There are plenty of scenes that involve exposed body parts, intimate love scenes, and overt innuendo that anyone’s inner 13-year-old will recognize. However, it never comes off as crude or gratuitous.

The overall tone of “Swing: Volume 2” is very much in keeping with the sex positive themes of its predecessor. It also does something important with those themes. As the story unfolds, we see how Cathy and Dan’s relationship evolves. Before, they were just a typical married couple looking to spice things up. Now, their relationship has gained greater complexity and, most importantly, it’s better because of it.

Both characters get an opportunity to narrate parts of the story. We get insights into their thoughts and feelings, revealing how they each approach this new facet of their relationship. Dan shows his share of insecurities, at times. Cathy’s reservations also crop up, as well. There are times she feels things that she doesn’t express and that causes some tension.

They make an effort to establish rules and boundaries. Many of them feel like concepts that actual couples who have navigated the world of open relationships would exercise. When the rules work, Dan and Cathy’s relationship benefits. When they don’t, even when it’s not intentional, it causes problems.

The problems never get overblown, but they don’t get brushed aside either. If “Swing: Volume 2” has an overarching theme, it’s that the world of open relationships is difficult. It’s not for everyone. It’s not the kind of thing that’ll fix a trouble relationship, either. Dan and Cathy make very clear that they love each other. Venturing into an open relationship wasn’t meant to fix that. It was meant to make their lives more exciting.

swing3

Without giving away too many spoilers, I’ll say that Hawkins and Cheung once again succeed in making all these dramatic elements work. There’s never a point where “Swing: Volume 2” feels too focused on sex or too focused on romance. It seamlessly blends the two together so that they complement one another, as any good love story should.

There is romance.

There is eroticism.

There is personal growth for both these characters.

Along the way, you don’t just find yourself rooting for them or their relationship. You can’t help but be curious to see where this journey takes them. Like real relationships, there’s no endgame or culmination in mind. This isn’t that type of story. The lives of Dan and Cathy stay firmly grounded in a realistic setting. That’s part of what makes it so impactful, as a story.

That’s not to say that “Swing: Volume 2” is without flaws. There are parts of the story that feel a bit truncated. A few dramatic moments don’t come off as intense as they’re set out to be. There are also other characters that don’t get fleshed out as much, despite them showing potential in the first volume.

It doesn’t stop the overall story from fitting together seamlessly. The story effectively builds on the foundation that the first one established while ramping up the passion along the way. It’s compelling, heartfelt, and sexy. Between the mature themes and the beautiful artwork, “Swing: Volume 2” stands out as a fitting slice-of-life style comic in a sea of superheroes and spectacles.

Crop

If I had to score “Swing: Volume 2,” I’d give it a solid 8 out of 10. If you’re looking for something different, mature, and even a little risqué, then this book will check all the right boxes and then some. I’m not saying it’ll give all monogamous couples second thoughts, but it’ll give more than a few some interesting ideas.

To purchase “Swing: Volume 2,” please do so through Comixology, Amazon, or your local comic shop.

Daily Sexy Musing: Raw Loving

couple-making-love-1

When you imagine the greatest romantic gestures, you often think of big, fancy spectacles that turns love into a spectacle. Maybe a guy brings a horse-drawn carriage to his lover’s front door to take her on a romantic stroll. Maybe a woman covers the bed in flowers, puts on some revealing lingerie, and plays her lover’s favorite song. It’s a beautiful thing. I’ve based novels and sexy short stories about it.

Then, there are those times when you just want something unabashedly raw. You skip the romantic display. You don’t even bother to close the blinds or wear something fancy. You just take your lover and let basic instincts do the rest. When you and your lover are in a particular mood, it can be uniquely satisfying.

Let’s face it. We don’t always have the time for more elaborate displays of passion. We’re all busy with one thing or another. We’ve got lives to live, bills to pay, and issues to resolve. While we should always try to make time for something overly romantic, I think there’s plenty of room for something less subtle.

It doesn’t have to be rough. It just has to be direct, concise, and genuine. If you love and desire someone that much, then your bodies will know what to do. Human beings are emotional, passionate creatures, by nature. Sometimes, you just got to let that nature do its thing. I hope this Daily Sexy Musing will inspire you to give it a try. Enjoy!

I take your hand.

I grunt your name.

I lay you down.

You don’t say a word. With your eyes, you just urge me on, daring me to be as crude and direct as possible. I gladly take up the challenge. My desires and loins have already risen to the occasion. I just need to know our passions are aligned, absent of doubt or reservation.

There’s a time for romance.

There’s a time for tenderness.

There’s a time for big, elaborate acts of love.

This is not one of those times.

For once, we skip the formalities. There’s no long, arduous path to that special moment of shared intimacy. The path is clear, direct, and within our grasp. I want it as much as you. We can eschew patience and planning. This time, the raw, unfiltered power of our love boils to the surface.

It’s not rough, but it’s not gentle either. We tear our clothes off, but we don’t rip them. There’s no slowing down or careful caressing. We see what we want. We take it and give it without hesitation. There are no profound expressions of amorous sincerity. Grunts and gasps tell us everything we need to know.

It’s so crude, but so direct.

It’s so simple, but so effective.

It’s so intense, but so focused.

Pure, unshackled desire becomes a pure, unambiguous act. Love, lust, desire, and ecstasy become one in the same. It’s brief, but effective. It ends quickly, but still satisfies.

There will be plenty of times for something greater.

For now, the rawest form of our love will suffice.

Jack Fisher’s Sexy Sunday Thoughts: Perfect Marriage Proposal Edition

22-051-xt2a5715

A marriage proposal usually the climatic moment of a blossoming romance. It’s the core ingredient for a happy ending in a fairy tale. It’s also glorified, commercialized, and idealized in the minds of romantics and marketing executives who sell diamond rings. That doesn’t take away from its romantic essence.

Now, I’m not married yet. I’m currently single and have been for quite a while now. However, I recently had a close family member of mine get engaged in a way that triggered every one of my romantic sentiments. It was beautiful. I saw the pictures and recounted the moment. I’m not going to lie. I almost overdosed on feels and joy.

Out of respect for my family’s privacy, I won’t share too many personal details. I just know that any close family member who reads this knows who I’m referring to. That proposal is a big deal for our family. For the next several months, we’ll be planning a wedding for the ages and I’m sure I’ll have plenty to say about it along the way.

In the meantime, I’d like to dedicate this week’s edition of my Sexy Sunday Thoughts to the apex of romantic gestures. It takes a lot of love, desire, and dedication to propose to someone. It reflects a level of love and commitment that goes beyond basic attraction. Love like that is worth celebrating. It starts with a proposal, but ends with something greater. That inspires more than just sexy thoughts.

“No matter how sexy you are, an adorable pet will always get more foreplay in the long run.”

“A blind date was very likely the first form of gambling and good sex was the first true jackpot.”

“Impressing a woman won’t always turn her on, but it will often guide her towards sexier thoughts.”

“The primary difference between a mistress and a prostitute is mistresses make long-term investments in lieu short-term benefits.”

“For rich people, a prenuptial agreement is tantamount to illicit orgasm insurance.”

“BDSM is the only form of micromanagement that leads to orgasms.”

“If you believe in fate, then can any orgasm ever be premature?”

For those lucky enough to have witnessed or taken part in a marriage proposal, I hope this inspired some fond memories. I hope I can one day have a chance to propose to someone, as well. Until then, I have plenty of eventful moments to look forward to. My family couldn’t be more excited. I share in that excitement and I hope it inspires more than just sexy thoughts in the long run.
