Announcement: Taking A Break From This Site

Waving Goodbye to Arbitration | Arbitration Nation

Every now and then, it’s important to take a step back, look at what you’re doing, and think long and hard about how you want to move forward. The start of a new year is generally a good time to make that effort. Since graduating college, I’ve made it a point to use the beginning of a new year to make important decisions about the near and far future.

Sometimes that means changing something about myself, be it related to my health or my personal relationships.

Sometimes, it means evaluating where and how I apply myself on a day-to-day basis.

Sometimes, it can even mean choosing whether or not to let something go, be it a project, a passion, or a goal.

Make no mistakes, I’ve contemplated many things about how I’ll navigate the new year. Some choices are more mundane than others. A few have larger ramifications. The one I’m sharing today might very well qualify.

Today, I’m officially announcing a change as to how I utilize this website. I’ve been posting daily to this site almost every day since 2017. I originally started it as a way to sell my novels and build an audience for my writing. Aside from the two books I got published and several others I self-published, not much has happened on that front. I still submit manuscripts to publishers, but I’ve yet to garner much attention.

Over time, this site has become less and less linked to those efforts. It doesn’t appear to be helping me further my goals anymore. That’s why I’ve made the following decision.

Moving forward, I will no longer be posting to it daily. If you’re a regular reader of this site, I sincerely apologize. Believe me when I say I appreciate the support, especially the kind that comes from friends and relatives. However, I think the time is right to make a change.

A couple weeks ago, I decided to analyze the overall traffic this site gets. I looked at the stats for the entire year. In doing so, I saw some clear and unavoidable trends.

This site does get a fair bit of traffic. However, over 90 percent of that traffic is to my Sexy Short Stories. Since 2019, that section of my site has been generating more and more traffic. It’s now at a point where the daily posts barely register. I’m lucky if one new post gets more than a dozen hits, whereas one of my older Sexy Short Stories get over a hundred on that same day.

Now, don’t get me wrong. I’m grateful for that traffic. I’m glad my Sexy Short Stories have found an audience. It has just rendered the time and energy I put into those daily posts less worthwhile. However, there’s another major factor that led me to this decision and that’s my YouTube channel, Jack’s World.

Over the past year, that channel has grown a great deal in terms of content and audience. I have over 400 subscribers at the moment and I’m eager to see that grow even more in the coming years. As such, I’d like to focus more of my energy on making videos rather than daily posts.

I’ve also come to enjoy making these videos. I’m still learning the process, the software, and all the little skills needed to make a quality video. I’d like to channel more energy into that effort and I just can’t do that while also posting regularly to this site.

I’m sorry if this news disappoints some. I know a few friends and family members were regular readers. I still hope to provide content. Some of the content on my YouTube channel is very similar to the kind of stuff I’ve written about on this site. With videos, though, I can add more media elements to make it more engage in.

As such, I feel that’s where I think my time and energy is better spent, at least for now.

Now, that doesn’t mean I’m abandoning this site completely. Like I said, my Sexy Short Stories get quite a bit of traffic. At some point this year, I’m going to go back to writing those. I don’t know how frequent they’ll arrive, but I hope to make it a regular thing that readers can look forward to.

Other than those stories, I’ll also make a post whenever I post a new video to Jack’s World, just to keep that aligned with this site.

Beyond that, there won’t be much else. That means no more weekly comic book picks, no more Sexy Sunday Thoughts, and no more articles about sex robots. Again, I apologize to those who regularly read those posts. I just feel like the time is right to make this change and move forward.

I still haven’t given up on my goals of becoming a published author. I have a number of unpublished manuscripts that I’d like to sell one day. I just don’t think posting to this site is helping me achieve that right now.

To everyone who has followed this site for the past several years, I sincerely thank you.

To the friends and family who have encouraged me every step of the way, I love you all.

Take care and stay safe.

Announcement On Future Of This Site

I hope everyone had a great New Year. I also hope everyone is starting the new year on a high note and using it as an opportunity to chart a new path for themselves. To that end, I have an announcement to make and it’s an announcement that some might find disappointing.

For the past three years, going back to 2016, I’ve been writing constantly to add content to this site. In that time, I’ve talked about all sorts of issues, from my efforts to become a published author to controversial issues like abortion and religion to sexy short stories to my own personal issues. Make no mistake, I’ve enjoyed that experience. I’ve found it engaging, enlightening, and even a little fun.

However, I’ve been doing some serious contemplating for the past month. I’ve also been looking at the traffic stats over the past few years. While the traffic definitely grew to what I feel is a respectable point, I feel like I’ve reached a point where I can no longer justify the mount of time and effort that goes into constantly putting up content.

Writing articles, musings, and what not has helped attract new people to this site, but I don’t get the sense it’s doing anything productive for my endeavors. The traffic this site gets hasn’t turned into book sales or improved my chances with publishers. If anything, it takes away time I could be using to write more novels and explore new opportunities.

Believe me, if there were more hours in the day or if I got rich overnight somehow, I would gladly keep writing more content for this site. However, I simply cannot justify that effort anymore.

That’s not to say I’m shutting down this site or anything of the sort. It just means I’ll be cutting back significantly on what I post. I haven’t gotten much feedback on my articles. Even when I write something that get a response on Reddit, the comments don’t translate into much in terms of comments, retweets, or sales.

There are still some things I want to continue. I do want to continue my weekly Sexy Sunday Thoughts. I like writing those and the reward for that goes beyond clicks or likes. I’d also like to keep reviewing comics, but I may hold off on doing weekly reviews, unless I have something I feel is worth sharing. I intend to do that for movies too.

I’m honestly not sure what to do with this site moving forward.

I’m not even sure how I’ll continue to pursue a career in writing.

I’ve been searching for opportunities, but few are panning out. There are some options that I’m looking into, but it remains to be seen whether they’ll pan out. I still want to become a successful writer one day. I just don’t know how to go about it at this point and this site is just not helping in that effort as much as I’d hoped.

That may change. I hope it does change. I’d love to make a living writing the stuff I write. I don’t know if that’s possible right now, but I’m going to hold out hope and keep trying. That’s all I can do.

If you have any ideas or just want to comment, I’m happy to listen. Thanks to all those who regularly visit this site, some of which are my own friends and family. You’ve been very supportive and I can’t thank you enough for that. I hope it eventually pays off in a major way one day.

Announcement: New Approach To Website

home-renovation-signs-renovation-pardon-our-mess-signwelcome-home-america_f7aed1d80e8fb93f

This is just a quick announcement on the future of this website and my writing endeavors. For the past few weeks, I’ve been contemplating how to go about improving the content and experience of this site. I’ve also been contemplating the amount of time and effort I put into it, whether it pertains to promoting my novels or crafting sexy short stories.

When I started this website, my main goal was to establish a presence the crowded space that is the internet. From that presence, I hoped to generate an audience that enjoys my novels, my stories, and my occasional insights into issues that range from complex gender dynamics to sex robots. If I can make those issues sexy, then that’s a nice bonus.

While I enjoy talking about these topics, the time and effort that goes into each article is pretty extensive. Indeed, it has helped generate traffic for this website, but I feel as though little has come from this traffic, other than improving my stats. I don’t want that to be the sole measure of success for this site.

As such, I’ve decided to adopt a new approach for this website. I’ll continue to write articles on hot-button issues that range from abortion to artificial intelligence to depictions of video game characters. However, they will no longer be a daily feature. I’d rather focus on quality over quantity when discussing those issues, especially given the sensitive nature of certain topics.

Instead, I’d like to put more emphasis into my sexy short stories, comic book reviews, and other kinds of reviews that I feel have a sexy sort of relevance. I’ll also begin a regular column that I call my “Daily Sexy Musings,” which are more drawn-out version of my weekly Sexy Sunday Thoughts. These musings, I hope, will provide a sexy start to your day and get you thinking more sexy thoughts.

Ideally, I’ll establish a regular schedule for musings, sexy short stories, and serious articles about hot-button issues. If you have any suggestions or preferences for how I go about providing content on this site, please let me know in the comments. I’m certainly open to suggestions.

I genuinely want this website to succeed, both in terms of traffic and in terms of furthering my goals as a writer. I’d like to make a career out of writing and I want this site to play a part in the process. I’m not sure how to go about it, but I’m willing to learn and do the necessary work. Hopefully, it’ll make for a lucrative and sexy payoff.

I expect the next few months to be a time of adjustments and changes. To all those who have supported this site over the past couple years, I sincerely thank you and I hope to keep providing quality sexy content.

HUGE Boost In Traffic (Thanks To Reddit)

Rising-Market-Prices

I just wanted to make a quick post acknowledging something unexpected, but amazing. A few days ago, I decided to step up my efforts to promote my blog by creating my own Reddit page. I’ve only recently begun exploring more of Reddit and it has been a great experience. I figured that maybe it can help me increase traffic to my blog.

Boy, was that an understatement. I do what I can to promote this blog, but never has my effort paid off this much. So far, I’ve only posted a handful of my articles on Reddit. Then, earlier today, I posted my article on the 25th anniversary of “X-men: The Animated Series.” Apparently, that article went over very well with the X-men board.

As I write this, that article has received over 500 visitors. That may not sound like much, especially by PewDiePie standards, but for this humble blog operation, that is orders of magnitude bigger. Before today, my most popular articles going all the way back to last year barely exceeded 300. Today, one article beat that in less than 24 hours.

As a whole, this blog has gotten more traffic in the past day than it has at any point in its brief history. It’s a huge milestone and I couldn’t be more excited. Now, this may just be an anomaly. It might just be that my X-men article happened to come along at the right time and get just the right attention from Reddit. It’s fairly likely that this spike will taper off, at least for a while.

For now, though, I’m beyond thrilled. Today, the traffic on this site increased by a factor of 10. It has raised the bar for www.JackFisherBooks.com. For that, I sincerely thank everyone who has supported this site. I hope to continue making this site fun, sexy, and everything in between.

Another Month, Another Traffic Bump

I just wanted to make a quick post about the recent traffic with this site. Once again, I’m proud to report that October 2017 marked another increase. It wasn’t much, but it still counts, in my book. In total, www.JackFisherBooks.com logged 1,799 views for the month.

I know that’s not going to set the internet on fire or make me a best-selling author, but I still consider it progress. I’m still working hard to make this website an enjoyable part of everyone’s internet diet. Rest assured, I will continue in that effort. I have many sexy topics and announcements to share. I look forward to more sexy discussions that will hopefully further my efforts to be an erotica/romance writer.

To all those who support this website, I sincerely thank you and I hope it continues. My goal is to leave the world a sexier place. I like to think that with these increases in traffic, I’m making progress.

(Yet) Another Milestone!

It’s been yet another record month for me and this blog. I know I’ve been saying that fairly regularly lately, but it’s worth belaboring. This blog is growing. My footprint on the vast, endless abyss of cat videos, porn, and message boards is growing. It’s not growing by a lot, but it’s still growing so I’ll take it.

Last month, this blog topped 1,800 views. That’s a full 200 more than the previous month. Based on the raw numbers, my posts about love lessons from X-men comics, advances in tit technology, and some celebrity crap really attracted some buzz. I hope to keep growing it in the months to come.

I always want this blog to grow. I want awareness of my work to grow, both for my novels and for my own growing skill. Now that I’m accepting donations and tips on this site, I hope I can turn it into a career. I understand that’s not going to happen overnight, but I’m willing to put in the work.

So to all those who regularly read this blog and enjoy my writing, I sincerely appreciate it. I hope that support continues and grows.

Now Taking Donations For My Work

In case some of you haven’t noticed, in which case maybe it’s my fault for being too subtle, I made a little addition to this blog. It now has a special donation page that you can use to support it by contributing however much you can spare. It’s my first real attempt to get some money out of this blog, other than selling my novels.

I’m not going to be coy about it. I’m not going to be some shady televangelist either and claim that donating to this blog will solve any of your problems. I’m basically a guy on the street, playing an instrument, hoping to earn a few bucks with his skill. This blog is that instrument.

I’ve been working on it for over a year. In that time, I’ve talked about everything from sex robots to sex-positive superheroes to Wonder Woman’s BDSM history to virtue signaling to advances in contraception to smart sex toys to caveman logic. I try to offer a diverse, interesting, and sexy range of topics that go beyond my novels. I want this blog to be a hub for a unique world that you can’t experience anywhere else.

I’ve long thought about monetizing my site. Since I began putting effort into this blog, I’ve seen traffic steadily grow. I’m averaging over 1,000 views a month. I know that’s not a lot in an internet full of cat videos, porn, and laughing babies. It’s a start, though. I want to do what I can to expand my little sliver of the internet. If that sliver can help me sell more novels and make a few extra bucks, then I’ll consider that a success.

Now, I thought about upgrading my WordPress account to allow ads for this site. I am willing to do that at some point. However, before I resort to blanketing this site with ads, which I know many users find annoying, I want to try something simpler. Donations is as simple as it gets.

Just click on the Donations page at the top of the site or click on the PayPal icon on the front page and that will take you to a PayPal site where you can donate. I accept any amount other than a dollar. I’m not asking for someone to pay my mortgage off or something. I’m just asking for whatever change you can spare. Any amount helps keep this blog free of ads and focused on sexier topics.

So please, if you can, take some time to donate to this blog and support my efforts to make a living talking about fun, sexy topics while writing hot, sexy novels. The more resources I have, the more time and energy I can dedicate to these efforts. Call it a donation. Call it a tip. Call it pity for someone trying to make a living talking about sexy issues. It doesn’t matter. Any reason or excuse for donating is okay with me.

donate-button

Thank you and I promise not to beg for donations too much. I hope as traffic for this site grows, new opportunities will emerge. Like I said, I want to make a living with this, writing sexy stories and talking about sexy issues. I’m willing to put in the work to achieve this, but I need support from others to make it a reality. So please donate what you can and help me make this world better, sexier, and everything in between.

Latest Milestone For This Blog

This is just a quick announcement, coupled with a euphoric bit of gratitude on my part. Every now and then, I update everyone on how well this blog is doing in terms of web traffic. Seeing as how I have to compete with internet porn, cat videos, and Harry Potter message boards, I understand that there are only so many digital crumbs for me to get.

That means that whenever I see traffic on this blog reach a certain point, I count it as a triumph on par with getting a lap dance by a Victoria’s Secret model on my birthday. This past month, July 2017, warrants a lap dance or two because it was my best month to date since I started this blog.

With a total traffic count of approximately 1,600 views, the bar has been raised. A new standard has been set. While I have every hope and intention of beating that mark again, I can’t thank everybody enough for helping this blog grow. It’s a big part of my effort to become an erotica/romance writer. Beyond just selling my novels, it helps me refine my craft and explore various topics, sexual or otherwise.

From the bottom of my heart, I thank everyone who regularly visits this site and takes the time to leave comments. I appreciate it! I look forward to providing more content, sexy and otherwise, in the future.

Another Milestone For This Blog!

I just thought I’d share some news that put a smile on my face and a boner in my pants. I’ve been working hard on this blog for over a year now, trying to build an audience and create my own uniquely sexy sliver on the internet. I know it’s not much, but I’m proud of what I’ve done thus far. I’m also happy to report that my efforts are paying off.

Last month was another banner month, in terms of traffic. I managed to rake in over 1,300 views for the month of June 2017. That’s my second highest month to date. The first highest is still May 2017, which had about 1,500 views. I hope to top that at some point this year and I’m already making progress.

Just yesterday, I found out that my article on the current status of the “X-men: Dark Phoenix” movie was my most heavily trafficked article of the year, raking in over 100 views in a single day. That is a record for a single post and I couldn’t be happier.

It helps that I already have a large presence on comic book message boards and FaceBook groups. I’ve been talking about comics online for much longer than I’ve been working on this blog. Whenever there’s an opportunity to combine the two, I jump at it. Sometimes, it even ties into the world of erotica/romance, more so than most people realize.

So from the bottom of my heart and my loins, thanks to all those who have helped this blog grow. I hope it continues to grow, especially as I release more books like “Rescued Hearts.” If there’s any other topic that people want me to discuss, please let me know. I want to make this blog as successful as possible and I’m open to suggestions, especially the sexy kind.
