The (Amazing) Sights, Spectacles, And Lessons Of New York Comic Con 2019

9FE52827-2897-4629-B24A-9FDE46A77E9A

Another New York Comic Con has come. Once again, I managed to experience it for a single day. While I would’ve loved to spend another day seeing everything I didn’t get a chance to see yesterday, it was an incredible experience. I enjoyed every minute of it and, like other New York Comic Cons before it, this one will be full of many treasured memories.

I could write several books, and even a couple sexy short stories, about all the things I saw while I was there. I attended panels, met incredible people, saw amazing costumes, saw some breaking comic book news, and even got a chance to connect with some real celebrities. I cannot overstate what a thrill that was.

New York Comic Con has always been so much fun, just as the entire city of New York always been fun. There are so many places to see and people to meet. I found myself running around the Jacob Javits Convention Center, trying to experience as much as I could. I like to think I took in as much as I can, given the constraints of time and only having a Friday pass.

By far, one of the best parts of New York Comic Con was seeing the costumes of fellow fans. This year might have been the most diverse, creative year yet. I saw plenty of typical costumes, like Batman, Superman, Deadpool, and the Joker. This year, however, had one of the most diverse set of costumes that I’ve ever seen.

It was so incredible that I nearly drained the batter on my phone, trying to get as many pictures as I could from those willing to share one. Here are just a handful of the ones I managed to get. Trust me when I say this is just a small sample of the creative passion I saw.

Every year, the fans who make these costumes find a way to surprise me. Next year, however, is going to be tough to be. That said, I’m sure the passion of these fans will help them find a way.

In addition to the costumes, New York Comic Con often leaves me with some unique takeaways that I could never get by just reading stories about it. Actually being there and seeing it first-hand will always have a more extensive impact. This year had some more nuanced lessons than previous years.

The first, and most apparent, lesson I learned is that the impact of anime is growing. This year, I saw more anime-inspired costumes than any previous year. I didn’t recognize all the anime that it came from, but there was definitely an uptick in anime costumes and that nicely reflects the growth of the genre.

The second lesson, which is more or less a reinforcement of what I’ve learned in previous years, is that most writers, creators, and celebrities are awesome in person. Many consider themselves fans, as well. I’ve interacted with plenty online, mostly through Twitter. They’re as nice in person as they are in real life.

I even had the privilege of meeting a few I’ve worked with. A while back, I reviewed “Swing Volume 2” after getting an advanced copy. While in artists alley, I had a chance to meet the writer, Matt Hawkins. He was an awesome guy and the insights he gave were incredible.

To those who think the details of that story were embellished or eroticized, I can attest that they weren’t. Everything Mr. Hawkins wrote about in that story was inspired by real people and real couples. I can’t thank him enough for sharing such insights and I’m already looking forward to Swing Volume 3.

The third lesson, which I guess is more an exercise in best practices, is that if you really want to get into a panel, you need to get in line at least 20 minutes early. While I managed to get into all the panels I wanted, the lines were long and I just barely got in.

For the advanced screenings of upcoming movies and cartoons, you need to be even more proactive. I was unable to get into a screening of “Wonder Woman: Bloodlines” or “Joker.” Those filled up very quickly and if I want to get in next year, I’ll have to be even more proactive.

There’s so much I experienced. There are many more things I wish I could describe, but it would take too much time and energy away from writing sexy short stories. I’ll just belabor that I had an amazing time. I saw so many amazing things and met so many awesome people. I’m already looking forward to going back next year.

Daily Sexy Musing: Animal Loving

showimg_hkl41_1200_1200

Technically speaking, human beings are animals. I know there are certain individuals, especially creationists, who abhor such an association. For some, the idea of being closely associated with mere animals, let alone classified as one, just doesn’t sit well. While I’ve little respect for creationists, I can respect that sentiment to some extent.

That said, I don’t think being labeled an animal is necessarily a bad thing. In many ways, it provides an important perspective on ourselves and our place in the world. As humans, we’re capable of some pretty amazing feats. We have literally reshaped the face of this planet. At the same time, we’re still animals cut from the same mold as monkeys, dogs, cats, birds, lizards, and dinosaurs.

This extends to our love lives. I would even argue our animal nature is part of what makes our love lives so complex and kinky. Every animal goes about sex, society, and bonding in their own unique way. Humans just happened to be especially unique, but we still retain many elements of our animal nature.

At times, the greatest intimacy we experience comes when we channel our animal nature. There’s a reason why so many songs, euphemisms, and sexual positions have primal connotations. Whether we’re doing it doggie style or going at it like rabbits, we definitely have an animal side. When properly applied, it makes for amazing lovemaking. This Daily Sexy Musings should help make that case to the animal in us all.

This morning, everything was so calm. We were just two lovers, living our lives and navigating our world. Nothing was out of place. Our minds, bodies, and faculties were within our control. It was all so peaceful and serene.

Then, night came.

Then, our bodies awoke.

Then, our minds devolved.

Then, harmony gave way to chaos.

In an instant, the higher function of our human brains gives way to the base desires of our primal nature. We act on a whim and those whims are so crude. Gone are concerns about work, money, society, and propriety. In this moment, we are barely human. For the rest of the night, we are animals acting on pure, unfettered desire.

We’re dogs in heat.

We’re salmon swimming upstream.

We’re birds sounding the mating call.

On instinct, we respond to these feelings. There’s no thought or care to the details. All that matters is feeding this basic desire, following freely the primal path before us. Deeper love gives way to shallow lust. We seek no greater purpose or goal. Only a thirst for pleasure guides us.

Like hungry predators, we pounce on one another. We’re not gentle or careful. Clothes are ripped off rather than removed. There’s no caressing or teasing. Instead, we grope and grasp, indulging in the flesh that feeds the beast within us. Together, we unlock the chains and let the creature roam.

Moans become grunts.

Gasps become growls.

Words become glares.

What began as a deep human connection is now a shallow primal act. There’s no greater meaning behind our actions, nor does there need to be. Every hour of every day, we channel our humanity, just to get along with our fellow humans. When the sun sets and the doors close, we dare to unleash the animal within and savor the fruits of our beastly desires.

Daily Sexy Musing: Make-Up Sex

shutterstock_298379312

I’ve always had mixed feelings about make-up sex. That’s not to say I’m against it. I know that in certain situations, it can work for certain couples. It can even be good for certain relationships. If a couple can find a way to get something meaningful out of it, then more power to them. Being a romantic, though, it often leaves me conflicted.

I’ve known couples who treat make-up sex as a bandage, of sorts. They fight, bicker, and argue to no end, only to use sex as a way to mend whatever wounds they impart. Now, I’m all for using sexy activities to make a bad day feel better, but as a remedy for major issues, it’s a risky treatment option that is prone to all sorts of complications.

I should probably disclose that I don’t have much direct experience with make-up sex. It just doesn’t appeal to me, personally. In all the relationships I’ve had, it hasn’t been part of the romance. While I doubt it’ll ever be part of a future romance, I don’t necessarily rule out the possibility.

That said, I don’t doubt the potential value it may have in our collective love lives. I’ve seen other couples successfully use it. I even see the logic to it, using something sexy to counter conflict. When properly applied, it can do more than just temper hostility. This Daily Sexy Musing is my own little exploration into how ambitious lovers can go about it. Enjoy!

I’m so upset with you.

You’re so upset with me.

We vent our anger.

We share the dismay.

How did it go so wrong? On any other day, our love carries us through. Together, we find a way to work it out. We need not raise our voice or bicker needlessly. We’re supposed to be stronger, but on this day, our passions get the better of us. The frustration boils over and we show our worst selves.

I hate this feeling as much as you. Everything about it feels wrong. I want nothing more than to put it behind us. You want the same. It shows in your tears of anguish. I’m ready to make amends, but I don’t know how.

We can’t stand each other, but we can’t walk away.

We resent each other, but we love each other.

We annoy each other, but we console one another.

I can’t stand it anymore. This isn’t who we are. All the heart, soul, and energy we put into our love cannot be so easily subverted. There has to be a way to fix this. I promise to myself and to you that I will make everything right. The bitterness is strong, but our love is stronger. I need only find a way to channel it.

Finally, the feeling boils over. The anger turns to resignation. All the hate becomes a realization. The intensity of what we feel manifests in a new way. Suddenly, the resentment seems petty. Everything that seemed so wrong now seems trivial. To right our strained hearts becomes obvious. The same passion that caused us pain is re-purposed and reversed.

Together, we vent a new wave of emotions.

Together, we tear into each other once more.

Together, we unleash our most heated feelings.

Together, we turn hate into love.

Daily Sexy Musing: Geeky Sex Appeal

ybhqo6m9

I freely admit it. I’m a comic book geek/superhero nerd/comic fanboy/whatever colorful term you want to give it. I love comic books, sci-fi, cartoons, and everything else that Bill Maher finds insufferable. I don’t try to hide it. I’ve written about it many, many times on this site and I plan to write much more in the future.

I say this knowing that geeks like me aren’t known for their sex appeal. If anything, geeks are often defined by a lack of sex appeal. It’s a stereotype that got overplayed in 1980s teen comedies, but continues to linger in popular perceptions of nerd culture. Even though there are objectively sexy people who identify as geeks, many of these stereotypes persist.

Naturally, I resent these attitudes. I believe geeks can have a sexy side and not just with respect to sexy cos-play. That sexy side has real appeal that brings people together. I know this because I met my college girlfriend through a shared love of comics. She definitely had a sexy side too and being a geek actually helped.

The culture has shifted significantly in recent years. Geeks aren’t just mainstream. They’re a huge market. The release of “Avengers Endgame” and the box office records it’s breaking is proof of that. You don’t become that mainstream without some level of sex appeal. It may not be obvious, but it’s definitely there.

As geeks like me bask in the awesome of movies like “Avengers Endgame,” I think the time is right to celebrate that sex appeal. For all the geeks, nerds, fanboys, and fangirls out there whose sex appeal is so under-appreciated, this Daily Sexy Musing is for you.

Truth, justice, and the American Way.

A long, long time ago, in a galaxy far, far way.

Higher, further, faster.

These are the words ingrained in our memories, connected to a passion that transcends their core meaning. To some, they’re just concepts and phrases. For us, they evoke images of capes, costumes, heroes, and heroines. Our adult minds connect with our childlike spirit. Together, they form an identity and a world that we embrace.

Through comic books, movies, TV shows, and games, we explore that world on our own accord. As kids, it enchanted us. As adults, it inspires us. In this world, we dare to dream of greater things and higher ideals. The impossible is possible and the improbable is inevitable. Through will and imagination, the shackles of reality crack.

A nerd with a passion.

A geek with a hobby.

A fan with a purpose.

A soul with a spark.

Within us is a capacity for something great. On our own, we gladly lose ourselves in our dreams. With those who share our dreams, the greatness compounds, as does the passion. Whereas one dedicated soul can achieve plenty. Two can create something beyond imagination.

Movies become an event.

Books become an entire universe.

Games become an ever-expanding adventure.

Fanciful thoughts become intimate passions. My energy supplements yours and your energy only compounds mine. Discussions become heated and insight becomes connection. What begins as an exploration becomes a shared journey. I let you into your world and you let me into mine.

I am your geek.

You are my nerd.

We share a great passion.

We are our greatest heroes.

A Scary (Yet Sexy) Story Before Halloween

It’s the day before Halloween. I’m already working up an appetite for candy, I’ve binge-watched an unhealthy amount of slasher movies, and I’m eagerly awaiting the sexy costumes I’m sure to see. Halloween is an underrated holiday, is what I’m saying. I’ve said it before, but it’s worth belaboring.

In the spirit of this sweet, sexy holiday that adults and kids alike can embrace, I’d like to contribute in a way that goes beyond handing out candy, drinking pumpkin ale, or wearing my sexy male nurse costume. Yes, I have a sexy male nurse costume. Men can be sexy nurses too, you know?

While I’m sure some are burned out watching overly-censored version of “Friday The 13th” and “Halloween” on cable, I think there’s still room for a scary, yet sexy Halloween story. As it just so happens, I happen to have one that I would like to share. Hopefully, it gets everyone in the Halloween spirit. If it makes you horny too, then that’s just a bonus.

This particular story takes place during my first year of college. I’ve shared sexy college stories before, but this one is unique in that it was more a legend around campus. I wasn’t there when it happened, but it had already become part of the culture there and, being a curious freshman, it really resonated with me.

Apparently, this story had been circulating around the school for a couple years now. Nobody knew that it was true, but it sounded like it could be true and that’s kind of what made it scary. Sure, it has a sexy twist, but there’s still that creepy undertone that you only ever feel around clown, black cats, or guys wearing hockey masks.

It didn’t have an official name, but I called it “The Tale Of The Cursed Cupcakes.” I promise it’s not as corny as it sounds. I also apologize if I get some of the details wrong because it has been a while since I told this story, but I think it’s worth sharing on the night before Halloween.

The sun had just set. Halloween had officially begun. A young couple, Eric and Karen, were set to go to the biggest Halloween party on campus. This was one of those parties that only a select few got invited to. Eric happened to be a former roommate with someone who helped organize it so they managed to get in. For him and his girlfriend, it was a big deal.

They go to the party wearing their best costumes. He’s dressed as a pirate. She’s dressed as sexy school girl. They arrive at an upscale apartment just off campus. It’s a place usually reserved for students at the school who have rich parents, scholarships, or both. The food is better, the alcohol isn’t cheap, and the toilets actually work. By college standards, it might as well be a luxury penthouse.

Eric and Karen arrive at the party just after eight. They meet up with the host, a somewhat colorful character named Michael Bowers. He has a reputation throughout campus as being somewhat eccentric. His family contribute heavily to the school and works as a trainer with the football team, which gives him all sorts of access. The guy has connections and he’s not afraid to use them.

As soon as they enter the party, they find out he’s used them well. He reserves the party room at his apartment building and he goes all out. He orders multiple kegs, sets up tables full of snacks, and even hires a professional DJ. At the center of it all is this big plate of cupcakes, each designed to look like eyeballs with big blue irises. Karen finds them kind of creepy, but she figures that’s just part of the Halloween theme.

“Welcome!” Michael greets them, dressed as a vampire. “Here, have a cupcake or several. I promise they’ll get you in the spirit!”

“Whatever,” Eric says, shrugging his shoulders. “I’m just here to have a good time with my girl.”

“You’re sweet, babe,” Karen replies, giving him a nice kiss.

They both eat their cupcakes. They’re warm and sweet, definitely better than anything bought in a store. Eric ends up having another. Then, he and Karen grab some beer, some snacks, and start dancing to all sorts of Halloween-themed music.

More people arrive. Michael greets every one of them, offering everyone cupcakes. Most accept them, thinking little of it. They then join in the fun. They eat, they dance, and they laugh. Like Karen and Eric, they want to have a good time.

Then, after a couple hours or so, everyone has had their share of drinks and snacks. Intoxication takes over and inhibitions disappear. It’s fun, decadent, and everything Karen and Eric expect of a party. Then, Karen starts to notice something odd.

Eric, who isn’t that drunk, gets a little friskier than she expects. As he dances with her, he starts kissing her neck, feeling up her thighs, and even squeezing her butt. This surprises her because he’s usually doesn’t get that overt in public. He usually saves that kind of intimate touching for the bedroom. He’s kind like that.

Before she knows it, though, his touching becomes more overt. He kisses her in the middle of the dance floor and not in a romantic sort of way. He does so in a way that makes it clear he wants to fuck her.

“God, I want you, Karen,” he tells her with an almost-predatory tone. “I’m so fucking horny right now!”

At first, she thinks he’s just drunk. Then, she feels it. When he pulls her deeper into his arms, it literally pokes her right in the thigh. Eric has a raging hard-on. He doesn’t even try to hide it. When she looks down, she sees he has pitched a full tent in his pants. It’s so big and hard it looks like the seams are ready to burst.

“Eric, what has gotten into you?” Karen wonders.

That’s when she notices something else. Looking around her, she sees similar behaviors between other couples. Some are already making out. Some rushing into darkened rooms. Some are engaged in full-fledged foreplay right on the spot. It’s not coy or playful either. It’s like something has gotten into them.

“Fuck, I’m so hard right now!” she hears one man say.

“Hey! Someone get in my pants right now! I’ve got a hungry snake and he’s ready to bite!” says another.

It’s getting intense. The men around her, and even some of the women, seem possessed. Something has gotten into them and it’s not just the alcohol. They’re like animals in heat. Someone or something has provoked them and Eric is one of them.

He’s now looking at her with the eyes of a hungry animal. She’s never seen him like this before. He’s usually so polite and sweet. On this night, though, he’s a raging ball of masculine prowess and he wants to take it out on her. At first, Karen is worried that something might be wrong with him.

Then, he does it. Eric leans in, nibbles on her ear, and slips a hand between her legs. He does this because he knows it turns her on. He knows it gets her in the mood. He doesn’t usually do it unless the time is right. This might not be that time, but it’s too late. The damage has been done. Now, she’s horny too. Whatever monster has consumed her boyfriend has consumed her as well.

“Please, Karen,” he whispers into her ear with that tone he knows she can’t resist. “I want to fuck.”

“Okay,” she tells him. “Let’s go find some privacy.”

“I know just the place!”

Without hesitation, he grabs her hand and leads her away from the party. He’s been to this apartment complex before. He knows it better than most. He practically sprints across the building, eventually finding the locker room area near the pool, which has been closed for the night.

They enter. It was odd that it had been unlocked, but Karen didn’t bother making sense of it. She just followed her boyfriend inside. He then led her towards one of the changing areas, pinned her against the wall, and slid her panties down her skirt.

There was little foreplay or sexy talk, which was unlike Eric, who was such a caring lover. When he dropped his pants, though, she saw the sheer size of his erection and was convinced.

“Fuck! What has gotten into you, Eric?” Karen gasped in amazement.

“I don’t know, but I want it in you too!” he tells her.

He makes good on his desires. With that massive boner, he goes onto give Karen the hardest, rawest fuck of her life. It’s so raw and primal, as though a demon has possessed her boyfriend and the only way to exorcise it was to fuck her senseless. It was intense, but powerful. She could even feel it herself, this demonic lust filling her as he fucked her.

It’s not quick either. He ends up fucking her multiple times, blowing multiple loads. Karen finds herself climaxing more than once too. She swears she hasn’t come this many times since her prom night. For a moment, it seems as though this demonic lust was going to consume them completely.

Eventually, though, they vent their powerful lusts. They’re tired, sore, and dazed. Karen is still a little scared. What just came over them? What just happened?

“We should go,” she finally says after all is said and done.

“Yeah, we should,” Eric says, sounding just as overwhelmed.

They leave the party without saying goodbye. They make it back to the dorm where they shower, sober up, and fall asleep.

The next day is awkward and confusing. They’re still not sure what to make of it. Eric is unusually silent. Karen worries that the monstrous lust is still in him and he’s trying to fight it. She starts to worry whether that party brought out something in them they didn’t know. Did that party reveal a monstrous side to them that they weren’t ready to handle?

Then, later that day, they’re in their dorm together. Eric gets a phone call. It’s his own roommate who’d gotten him an invite to the party. At first, Karen doesn’t make much of it. Then, she hears Eric burst out laughing. Curious, she approaches her boyfriend.

“What’s going on, Eric? What’s so funny?” she asks.

“Viagra,” he tells her, still laughing hysterically. “The cupcakes had Viagra in them!”

That, my friends, is “The Tale Of The Cursed Cupcakes.” I hope it helps inspire your Halloween spirit, among other things. Again, this is a story I only heard from my fellow schoolmates. I don’t know if it’s true. I don’t think it matters. It doesn’t make the story any less sexy.

Afterglow: The (Sexy AND Non-Sexy) Sights Of New York Comic Con 2017

I hope everyone forgives me for not having the energy to write about something elaborate, complicated, and insightful today. I’m still buzzing from all the fun I had at New York Comic Con the other day. That buzz is going to take a while to wear off and I’m totally okay with that.

If this were one of my sexy novels, I would be fully immersed in the afterglow phase. We all know that wonderful feeling, that sense you get when you’ve expended all your energy into something sexy, satisfying, and beautiful. You just want to bathe in that wonderful feeling it evokes. The fact that I’m writing this with a big goofy grin on my face should highlight the breadth of that feeling.

In the spirit of my New York Comic Con afterglow and the wonderful time I had, here are some of the pictures I collected of all the sexy sights and experiences I had. I hope to top them next year, but for now I’ll just let this fuel the afterglow.

Thanks again, New York Comic Con, for making my experience fun, satisfying, and so many other sexy things that I’d rather keep to myself. Coming from an aspiring erotica/romance writer, that’s saying something.

Have A Happy (Sexy) Halloween!

On behalf of Jack Fisher, the sexy novels Jack Fisher aspires to write, and all things sexy, have a happy Halloween!

Halloween is, in my opinion, one of the most underrated holidays of the year. It’s got something for kids to love, namely free candy and an excuse to eat lots of candy. It’s got something for adults to love, namely sexy costumes and an excuse to wear said costumes. Granted, adults should never need an excuse to wear a sexy costume, but it can’t hurt.

I’ve always been fond of just sitting on my front porch, giving out candy to all the kids in my neighborhood. I also make damn sure I get the good stuff and lots of it. I like being the house that kids know is awesome. They certainly appreciate it, although I do think their parents do dread the coming sugar rush they’ll endure.

Then, there are the sexy costumes. God help me, I love those sexy costumes. I wasn’t in good shape until recently so I didn’t get a chance to put on one of those costumes. Without getting too personal, let’s just say that situation has changed and I look for every opportunity to wear a sexy costume. The women certainly go out of their way to do it. Why shouldn’t the men?

For me, it feels like a second act of New York Comic Con. That’s another occasion where people have a valid excuse to wear crazy outfits and dress up in overtly sexy ways. Again, such excuses shouldn’t be necessary, but it can’t hurt.

So in the spirit of Halloween and all the sexy fun it offers, I give you a few wonderfully sexy costumes, courtesy of sites like TheChive. Enjoy and have a fun, sweet, sexy time!

Cartoons aren’t just for kids, you know?

Not sure what these costumes are. Pretty sure I don’t care.

For one day of the year, lingerie counts as a costume. It’s a beautiful thing.

Sex appeal makes every costume better. It’s a basic law of nature.

A little creativity along with sexiness is also a beautiful thing.

Gotta catch ’em all, right?

Wonder Woman can be both a feminist icon and sexy. Halloween just reinforces that idea.

The only instance where school has some actual appeal.

I’m not afraid. That’s not quite what I’m feeling at the moment.

The Force is strong (in my pants).
