Absolute Superman: The Superman His World (And Ours) Needs Right Now

This is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World.

The Absolute Universe has been a bold, exciting initiative for DC Comics. It dares to reimagine its iconic heroes in a far darker, far less ideal world. But a world like that needs Superman more than most. It needs a hero who still stands for truth and justice in a world where they’ve been undermined to an extreme.

It also parallels our world in distressing, but relevant ways.

But Absolute Superman isn’t just another Elseworld retelling of Superman and how he came to be. I argue in this video that where he comes from, what he stands for, and why he does what he does makes him uniquely capable to be the hero we all need right now. Enjoy!

The Uncomfortable (But Relevant) Truth About The OJ Simpson Trial

This is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World.

In this video, I recount and discuss the famous/infamous trial of OJ Simpson. If you’re around my age, you remember how impactful this was. And to this day, we’re still grappling with the events surrounding this trial.

But now that OJ Simpson himself has passed away, the time is right to confront the many comfortable truths this trial revealed. Enjoy!

Magneto Was Right (And Still Is) And Why That Matters

This is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World.

It’s a recurring theme throughout contemporary X-Men comics.

Magneto was right.

For years, it was just a cynical observation. But lately, Magneto being right hits a bit harder. It’s no longer just a popular meme or a dramatic moment in X-Men 97. It offers powerful insights into the real world. And those insights are worth heeding.

My YouTube Channel Is BACK!

The past couple days have been very stressful and full of anxiety. But after lots of coordination with the support team at YouTube, I managed to get my channel back!

Needless to say, this is a HUGE relief. I was sincerely worried that all that hard work I did was gone forever. But now, it’s back! And I intend to continue making videos, just as I did before. To all those who send me their kind words of support, I sincerely thank you.

Jack’s Comic Gems | All-New Wolverine: Enemy of the State II

This is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World.

In this entry of Jack’s Comic Gems, I highlight All-New Wolverine: Enemy of the State II. This spiritual successor to the acclaimed Enemy of the State arc in a previous Wolverine series makes Laura Kinney a target among heroes, villains, and hated rivals alike. It pushes her in ways she’s never been pushed before. But it ends leaving little doubt that she deserves the title of Wolverine. Enjoy!

The New Captain Planet Comic Is Weird (In A Good Way)

This is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World.

Dynamite Entertainment has dug deep into early 90s nostalgia and brought back Captain Planet in the form of a new comic with a much grittier tone. I didn’t know what to make of the news when it first came out. I wasn’t planning on checking it out, either. But I decided to give it a try. And while it did exceed my expectations, it always just felt…weird. But it’s a good kind of weird.

And in this video, I try to explore that feeling. Enjoy!

Star Wars Rogue One: The Perfect Modern Star Wars Movie

This is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World.

In this video, I make the case that Star Wars: Rogue One is the perfect modern Star Wars movie. It’s a movie that has largely been lost in the fray as the larger Star Wars mythos has been mired in complications and fan backlash. But even as the franchise has evolved, Rogue One stands out in so many meaningful ways. And to date, it’s the movie that has come closest to matching the cinematic spectacle of the original trilogy. Enjoy!

Why People (Wrongly) Claim AI Art Is “Soulless”

This is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World.

There have been many concerns and criticisms regarding artificial intelligence. One area that has been impacted more than most involves art.

Generative AI has caused serious disruptions to the world of art. And in 2025, this became a much larger controversy with “Ghiblification” trend that began with Open AI. This has led to more vocal criticisms about AI art being “soulless” in nature.

However, that criticism is worth scrutinizing. And in this video, I attempt to offer what I feel is a more balanced perspective on this issue. Enjoy!

The Critic Revival: Could It Really Work?

This is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World.

This video entertains the possibility of a revival of The Critic, a remarkable, yet forgotten show from the 90s. After my previous video, both Jon Lovitz and Al Jean came out in support of a revival. And while I’d love to see Jay Sherman return, I think it’s worth asking whether such a revival could work.
