Post-New York Comic Con Afterglow Setting In

Yesterday was a damn good day. Defintely a true return to form for the New York Comic Con. After two years of dealing with COVID-19, this felt like a truly complete Comic Con experience. For that, I cannot thank the fine folks who make the New York Comic Con experience possible every year. And I cannot thank enough the wonderful people who attend these conventions to make them so special.

From the comic book creators to the cosplayers to the celebrities to the food vendors to the security guards, I thank you.

This was truly special. As I’m typing this, I am nothing short of exhausted. Between navigating the Jacob Javits Center to traveling to New York City to finding appropriate lodging that won’t render me broke, it’s always quite challenging. But it’s still so worth it.

This year, I had a chance to meet a few of my favorite comic book writers. I managed to get some autographs, as well as a few special variant comics that I fully plan to frame. I met some amazing cosplayers who had some truly remarkable costumes. I also met a major celebrity. I won’t say who it is, but you’ve probably seen him in a several major blockbuster movies.

I’m going to take some time to rest and relax from it all. Then, at some point, I’m going to take the footage I captured and put it in a YouTube video for my channel, Jack’s World. I’m looking forward to sharing it. I’m also already looking forward to attending New York Comic Con next year, as well.

Heading To New York Comic Con 2022!

It’s finally here!

I’ve been waiting all year for it and with more anticipation than usual!

The New York Comic Con is finally here!

As I’m writing this, I struggle contain my excitement. It’s a familiar feeling I experience every year I’ve gone, but I’m still not tired of it. This year promises to be extra special.

After two years of being bogged down by the COVID-19 pandemic, New York Comic Con is set to return at full strength. That means no reduced capacity and no limited vendors. That means I’ll have to plan extra carefully in order to attend all the panels and get all the autographs I hope to get. But I’m willing to make that effort.

I even have a new costume this year that I can’t wait to show off. It cost me extra to get it customized, but I already feel it’s worth every penny.

So I hope New York is ready for me! Because I’m so ready for this.

New York Comic Con 2022, here I come!

HUGH JACKMAN IS PLAYING WOLVERINE IN “DEADPOOL 3” ON 9/14/24!

THIS IS NOT A DRILL!

THIS IS NOT A HOAX!

YES, I KNOW I’M TYPING IN ALL CAPS! THAT’S BECAUSE I’M SHOUTING AND TREMBLING WITH JOY!

HUGH JACKMAN IS COMING BACK TO PLAY WOLVERINE AGAIN IN DEADPOOL 3!

Okay, I’ve taken a moment to catch my breath.

I know I don’t normally just post short bits like this. I’m kind of working off raw adrenaline at the moment. I just wanted to share this news and the unfiltered joy it gave me.

Like many, I was very disappointed at the lack of X-Men news at D23 and San Diego Comic Con this past year. I worried we weren’t going to get much else aside from X-Men 97.

Then, Ryan Reynolds decides to drop this little bombshell on us. And I can’t thank him enough for that.

Suddenly, it looks like 2024 is going to be one of the most epic years in the history of cinema and I am so ready for it!

Jack’s Comic Gems: Fantastic Four Season One

The following is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World. This is video a fresh entry in my ongoing “Jack’s Comic Gems” collection. And this gem highlights a modern retelling of Marvel’s First Family. Back in the mid-2010s, Marvel launched a series of graphic novels that retold the classic origins of iconic characters in a more contemporary setting.

Naturally, the Fantastic Four were one of the first titles to come out and they set an incredibly high bar. Most already know the story of the Fantastic Four, but Season One re-told that story in a way that made it a true gem. Enjoy!

How Jason Aaron’s Heroes Reborn Won Me Over

The following is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World. This video is both a review and a retrospect of Jason Aaron’s Heroes Reborn, a major crossover event from 2021, which is also the same name of a major mini-series from the late 90s. It was a strange event and one with a title that carried a lot of baggage. I know because I remember that mini-series and it was forgotten for a good reason.

As a result, I freely admit I was very skeptical about this series. But I still gave it a chance. Much to my surprise, it exceeded my expectations in so many unexpected ways. And since it’s release, I think it’s worth exploring and celebrating. Enjoy!

Jack’s Fan Theories | Marvel Cinematic Universe | The Onslaught Theory

The following is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World. This video is my first attempt at a fan theory. For this theory, I attempt to surmise a way for Marvel Studios to integrate mutants into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. We already know they’re coming. Kevin Feige has announced it. A variant of Charles Xavier showed up in Multiverse of Madness. And mutation was directly referenced in the finale of Ms. Marvel.

But even though we know mutants are set to enter the MCU, there remains a number of pressing questions.

Where have they been all this time?

Why did mutants never show up during major events like Infinity War?

This theory, which I call the Onslaught Theory, attempts to answer that with a hypothetical scenario that builds directly on recent events. Please note this is just my personal theory. It may or may not get debunked in the near future.

Ms. Marvel Finale: Review, Reaction, and Speculation

The following is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World. This video is my overall reaction to the finale of “Ms. Marvel,” as well as my review of the series as a whole. I also talk about THAT scene near the end. If you’ve seen the episode, you know which one I’m referring to. And from it, I do a little overly excited speculation. Enjoy!

Thor: Love and Thunder Review | Action, Romance, And Heavy Metal

The following is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World. This video is my full review of “Thor: Love And Thunder.” Please note this review contains a few major spoilers. So, if you haven’t seen the movie yet, you have been warned.

But the long and short of it is simple. It rocks!

Gorr The God Butcher: How And Why He Became A Great Villain

The following is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World. This video is a deep dive into Gorr the God Butcher. He is, in my opinion, one of the best villains Marvel has created in the past two decades. He challenged Thor and every god in the Marvel universe in a way no character has before. Now that he’s set to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Thor: Love and Thunder, I think the time is right to explore and celebrate this menacing butcher of gods. Enjoy!

Avengers vs. X-Men: A Clash Of Heroes (That Nobody Won)

The following is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World. This video is a mini-documentary of Avengers vs. X-Men, one of Marvel’s most ambitious crossovers ever. It was set up to be the most epic hero-versus-hero clash of all time. But ultimately, it turned into a battle that nobody truly won the grand scheme of things. In this video, I attempt to explore the why, how, and what we can learn from this ambitious, but misguided event. Enjoy!
