I wasn’t planning on binging Ironheart. It was one of those show that didn’t appeal to me at first. But after some good word of mouth, I gave it a chance. And I’m glad I did.
This show surprised me. It wasn’t just good. It made me a Riri Williams supporter for all the right reasons. And I highly recommend everyone else give it a chance, as well. Enjoy!

For as long as Superman has existed, as a character, there have been evil or not-so-heroic versions of him. But why is this such a common plot? Why does it hold such appeal? That’s what I attempt to explore in this video. Enjoy!

This video is my quick reaction/review for Superman. I tried to limit the mention of spoilers, but I may have let a few slip. Enjoy!

The Absolute Universe has been a bold, exciting initiative for DC Comics. It dares to reimagine its iconic heroes in a far darker, far less ideal world. But a world like that needs Superman more than most. It needs a hero who still stands for truth and justice in a world where they’ve been undermined to an extreme.
It also parallels our world in distressing, but relevant ways.
But Absolute Superman isn’t just another Elseworld retelling of Superman and how he came to be. I argue in this video that where he comes from, what he stands for, and why he does what he does makes him uniquely capable to be the hero we all need right now. Enjoy!

It’s that magical time of year, once again!
The New York Comic Con is upon us!
And once again, I plan to attend. As I am typing this right now, I am making my final preparations. I’ve got my pass, I’ve got my costume, and I’ve got a stack of comics that I hope to get signed by my favorite artists and writers.
There’s so much I want to see. And while I know for certain I won’t get to see everything, I’m confident it’ll be another wonderful experience to remember. I’ve documented my past trips to New York Comic Con before. Every time I go, I encounter so many amazing people and forge memories that I deeply cherish. This trip has since become a highlight every year. And I look forward to making this year just as special.
I am so ready!
New York, here I come!

This video recounts the brilliant, but controversial message of the first Joker movie. A lot has happened with this character over the years. But Todd Phillips and Joaquin Phoenix offered a take that has resonated in ways that are both remarkable and distressing.

In this video, I highlight and explore one of my favorite episodes of Batman: The Animated Series. While Batman has one of the best rogue’s gallery in all of comics, this episode had him clash with a different kind of enemy.
Like Bruce Wayne, they’re billionaires.
Unlike Bruce Wayne, they choose to be villains.
But it’s why they make such a choice that’s truly remarkable. And the nature of that choice does a lot to affirm why Batman’s story is so powerful. Enjoy!

In an era where there’s a glut reboots and relaunches, there are some that are worth giving a chance more than others. And recently, Image Comics gave Witchblade, an influential series from the mid-1990s, a full revamp. This series has not been relevant in a long time.
But after checking out the first issue, I’m convinced. This is one reboot we should embrace.

This video is my quick, unscripted reaction to Deadpool & Wolverine. Please note I will be dropping some spoilers, but I made a concerted effort to not reveal too much. This is one movie that’s definitely worth seeing unspoiled. Enjoy!

This is video another entry in my ongoing “Jack’s Comic Gems” collection. And this particular comic is essentially a case study in just how great a modern comic book crossover event can be. “King In Black” might as an event centered on Eddie Brock and Venom. And while they are certainly part of it, this story is so much bigger than that.
It’s a dark, but beautiful display of superhero worldbuilding and epic battles featuring the god of all symbiotes, Knull. The stakes couldn’t be higher, personally and globally in King In Black. And it’s one of those unique events that shows just what Marvel can be at its best. Enjoy!
