After the events of Ultimate Invasion, Jonathan Hickman is set to launch a rebooted version of the Ultimate Universe for a new generation. Having advocated for this in previous videos, I am very excited about this. But I also have reservations that are worth highlighting as we prepare for this new Marvel universe. Enjoy!

For much of her history, Susan “Invisible Woman” Richards has always been defined by her role in the Fantastic Four. As a loving mother figure to many, she is very much the heart of the First Family.
But in this unique mini-series, Partners In Crime, she takes on a very different role for a very different kind of mission. It gives Sue a chance to show what she can do on her own and it turned out to be a hell of a ride. Enjoy!

This is another video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World. This video is a reaction and response video to Marvel’s recent announcement that they’re revising the world of Ultimate Marvel in June 2023 with Ultimate Invasion. I found this news somewhat striking because a year ago, I made a series of videos arguing that Marvel should reboot the Ultimate Universe. And there’s a real chance we could get something like that with this event. However, based on what little we know about the event, my feelings are somewhat mixed. And in this video, I explain that sentiment while also exploring the potential and pitfalls of this news.

The following is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World. This is video a fresh entry in my ongoing “Jack’s Comic Gems” collection. And this gem highlights a modern retelling of Marvel’s First Family. Back in the mid-2010s, Marvel launched a series of graphic novels that retold the classic origins of iconic characters in a more contemporary setting.
Naturally, the Fantastic Four were one of the first titles to come out and they set an incredibly high bar. Most already know the story of the Fantastic Four, but Season One re-told that story in a way that made it a true gem. Enjoy!

Like many Marvel fans, I have been closely following the news surrounding Marvel Studios making a “Fantastic Four” movie. After so many sub-par films, no franchise needs the Marvel Studios touch more than this one. In this video, I break down what I feel a “Fantastic Four” movie needs to achieve and I do a little speculation for how it could all come together. Enjoy!
Last week, I went on my first extended vacation in over a year. I actually left the state, traveled somewhere nice, and enjoyed myself in ways that didn’t just involve lounging on my couch. It was a wonderful feeling. The fact that I got to enjoy New Comic Book Day on the beach on a nice summer day just made it so much more enjoyable.
Seriously, it was one of the most relaxing feelings I’ve had in quite some time. It was refreshing, therapeutic, and so many other things I don’t have words to describe.
Now, I’m back home and back in my routine. I’m still recovering from some nasty sunburns. I think I’ve used an entire bottle of aloe vera, but the worst is behind me. It’s a good thing too because I’m healed up just in time for another New Comic Book Day. I may not be able to enjoy this one on a nice sunny beach, but sometimes my couch and a nice cup of coffee is still plenty enjoyable.
My vacation may be over, but that’s the beauty of being a fan of comics and having a Comixology account. Every week feels like an event. Every week gives you something to look forward to. How you enjoy it is up to you. Last week, I got to enjoy it on the beach. This week, I get to enjoy it on my couch. Both can be plenty relaxing for all the right reasons.
