Why DC’s Absolute Universe Beats Marvel’s Ultimate Universe 2.0

This is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World.

Marvel and DC Comics each created a new universe in which they built their iconic characters from the ground up. One was forged by the machinations of the Maker and the other was created through the power of Darkseid. Both have done well in terms of sales and fan response.

However, the Ultimate Universe is set to end in 2026. And DC’s Absolute Universe is poised to grow for years to come.

The time is right to take a step back and assess both universes as they’ve developed. In doing so, one thing became clear. Absolute DC is winning and Ultimate Marvel 2.0 has faltered.

Why The Maker Could Be The Ultimate Villain For The MCU

This is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World.

The future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is very much in flux, even with Avengers: Secret Wars on the horizon. But if the MCU is to continue beyond that movie, it’ll need a new villain.

And I strongly believe the Maker should be that villain.

He’s not just an evil, broken version of Reed Richards. He is the ultimate worst case scenario for any Marvel universe. And he would present a truly unique threat to the MCU for multiple phases. Enjoy!

PS: I started working on this video before Fantastic Four: First Steps came out. And I was too far along when I eventually saw it. So, please keep that in mind.

Ultimate Wolverine #1 Review: The Ultimate Living Weapon

In this video, I give my review and reaction to Ultimate Wolverine #1. The announcement for this series reinvigorated my interest in the new Ultimate Universe. And while this issue did have a few concerning moments, it still delivered in some major ways that have major implications for the future of the Ultimate Universe.

Ultimate Universe One Year Later: Promise, Outlook, And Concerns

In this video, I reflect on how Marvel’s all-new, all-different Ultimate Universe has developed over the course of the past year. It has been generally good, but with a fair amount of not-so-good here and there. Thought Experiment: How Much Power Can One Person Effectively Wield?

This is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World.

This video is another thought experiment about the nature of power and wielding it effectively. Whether in ancient times or during a modern day election season, people seek power and they seek to wield it. The extent to which they’re effective tends to vary wildly.

But that raises an important question. Just how much power can one person effectively wield?

The implications of this question are far-reaching. Our society needs people in power to run effectively. But what is the limit? And how do we navigate it? I welcome any additional insights or thoughts. Enjoy!

Ultimate Marvel Universe 6160: The State Of This New Marvel Universe And Its Ultimate Future

It’s been a year since Marvel launched and all-new, all-different Ultimate Universe. Jonathan Hickman got things going with Ultimate Invasion. Since then, multiple new series have come out. And the aftermath of Ultimate Invasion has been building towards a major showdown against the Maker’s Council.

Ultimate Black Panther #3 Review: Kings, Secrets, And Connections

This is a video from my YouTube channel, Jack’s World.

This video is my full review of Ultimate Black Panther #3 by Bryan Hill and Stefano Casalli. War is raging between Wakanda and the forces of Khonshu and Ra. The order the Maker created is seeking to preserve its power and even strengthen it.

But fighting this war means uncovering buried secrets. That leads T’Challa to team up with Killmonger and Storm to find out just what the Maker’s Council is after. Enjoy!
